New Eee Box 204/206 - Perfect Client?? (1 Viewer)

Hi!

I bought an EeeBox 206. All works perfekt. But after standby HD stutters! If I restart the box all works fine again.

Any idea whats wrong here?

For me it is working ok! Don't know what can be wrong at you.

I disabled every uneccessary option in msconfig, to let the box response faster, and provide more memory for mp.

1) Which options do you disable?
2) HOw do you provide more memory? higher priority?

1. Basically everything that is not needed to autostart (asus update, etc.)
2. By not starting these programs/processes there will be more memory for example for mediaportal

HD channels - you mean TV channels?

My box was working with mediaportal almost out of the box. Only that I installed disaster's patched version of mp, and the saf codec package.

I'm using an usb tuner for dvb-t channels, for H.264 HD TV I set up the already installed cyberlink codec. (part of the eee cinema package) hdtv with mpc codec is not working currently.

I'm using normal WMR9 settings.

If you check the logs of mediaportal and system log of xp, maybe you find something useful about this standby problem.

do you all use the EeeBox only as a Client or does anyone use it in SingleSeat? Whats your Experience with using EeeBox without a separate Server?

I'm using it as singleseat with an usb tuner. Currently I only watch the just-started dvb-t channels with this configuration.
Everything seems to be ok.

Still have a HD TV problem after standby. I wrote to the asus support ... and got an answer in 1 day.

" ... seems to be a hardware defect. Plz use the asus pick up service and we change the box in 5-10 days ..."

Try it and hope the problem is gone.

Anyway, seems to be a good service.
