    Hi Gemx,

I found the patch, that you gave me time ago.

That patch patches the core and dxutil, It works for MP 1.1, but I don't know if your modified version of this patch is better.

Let me know, or PM me.

    Thanks
    Martin

    Hello gemx & Marvman,

how is the plugin proceeding? Will the necessary changes to core.dll be integrated into MP 1.2.0 (I think I saw no entry on the roadmap.)?

I'd love to see it fully integrated, because this is one big plus (besides all the others) for MP as home theater!
    thx,
    Jo

    Hi Jo,

I use gemx patch for IFC, so the user can give me feedback whether the stuttering (which occurs on some machines) is gone with the patch, but much user tested it but no one gave me feedback. But maybe the atmolight user can help me out.

Do you guys have stuttering in video/tv playback with the atmolight plug in? If yes, resolves the patch the stuttering?

    Hi Marvman,

how should I test it? (Yes, right now I have stuttering with TV playback - video playback is working fine.)

Should I use the core.dll provided from gemx, the amtolight plugin and the IFC-plugin
    or
obsoletes the IFC-plugin the core.dll from gemx and the original core.dll from the installation should be used?

(And what version of IFC should we use for testing?)

    Greetings,
    Jo

    Hey Jo,

no you don't have to use IFC (only if you want and need it :D).

The bottom line is. atmolight and IFC grab the frame from the tv/video stream to analyze it. Those grabbing can result in a stuttering (only on some machines).
To eliminate the stuttering gemx created a patch, where the picture is resized within the GPU, so a smaller frame were grabbed.

So if you don't have stuttering introduced by atmolight plug in (or IFC) then you can't test it.

You can test it though. Install IFC version 2.0.2 (latest public) check whether tv/video is stuttering, if yes install the IFC 2.0.3 beta and check for stuttering.
The same for atmolight use an older version where the patch wasn't implemented and check with the latest version where the patch is included.

I don't want to hijack this thread for IFC :sorry:, any further testing with IFC, should come to the IFC thread.

    OK, i see.
I will try to help out and will reply to IFC thread.

    But summarizing:
There's still no answer what will happen to the modifications to core.dll
which are needed to run the atmolight plugin, or do I miss something

    best regards,
    Jo

this changes are harmless, I wanted to wait until I check the patch with IFC and then I'll open a mantis entry for the changes. So I think when all goes well this patch will integrate into 1.2.0

Are you talking about a patch that is different to the one post of the first page of this thread? And is this patch different to the one in the Core.dll available on the first page?

If yes, I would be interested, because I'm using Atmolight and I have some stuttering with SD channels (HD channels seem to be ok).

Because I'm building MediaPortal by myself, I would be interested to get the patch file(s) if they are different and would like to test. In the meantime, would using the dll's from IFC be helpful for you?
