Hi,

This one worked for me! THANKS!
I was even able to manually configure a channel in my TV Channels to be channel 000201 (external channel) and I was able to tune to this channel with your modified serial plugin!

Now the trick is to somehow get these channels to exist and get EPG data for them since zap2it doesn't have these digital channels in the DirecTV lineup for my zipcode.

My mediaportal.log file is here with the successful channel changes as reference:

THANK YOU!!!

You should have the possibility, to set up your digital channels in Zap2It. I have all the channels, i can receive, from there.

Hi,

Glad it is finally working :)
I will try to add the changes to the TVServer version soon.

natrlhy, not really sure what you mean about getting the channels to exist and get EPG data.
spachti, did you have to do anything special to get the EPG data?

Thanks,
patrick

I was able to get the EPG data for this channel I manaually added. Since one digital channel is an internal channel and one is external, I just named the channels the same, i.e 2-1 KTVUDT. The zap2it plugin populated the EPG data for both channels just fine.

I can't wait for this port to TVE3. Once this is ready for testing I'd be glad to be the guinea pig! The Zap2it plugin has been included in TVE3 builds and I hope we can get this plugin in there, too!

Does not look like it is directly possible with the TVServer :(

The TVServer AnalogChannel strictly has a single channel number (Int)
so it cannot contain an alpha character like a dash("-") and would not
retain leading zeros to parse out a channel/subchannel.

Unless I am missing something (very possible) it would pretty much be a
hack with something like 1000902, instead of 9-2, as the channel number.
A number too large to be a "real" channel number, yet still be able to
easily identify and parse the values.

So if anyone wants to weigh on that, or has other ideas, I have not made any changes to the TVE3 version.

    patrick or diehard2,

Is there a basic working serial channel changing plugin that works with TVE3? If it can't use the "-" or leading zeros in a channel number, anything is better than nothing. I'd like to test the TVE3 builds but without serial channel changing, I'm lost.

    Many thanks!

    Sorry to post here but...

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me get the directvtuner plugin working properly-I posted in the general support but alas, no answer. I have a working cable (using the dtvcontrol software), but can't get the plugin working-most likely from ignorance on my part.

Can someone please help or give me a thread link that might show me how to set it up properly?

    Thanks

    elektrik,

I commented on your post but I guess you haven't seen it yet.

Try the settings for your DirecTV receiver. Try the advanced settings as well.

As long as you are able to change channels with the dtvcontrol utility, this plugin should work.
