and i got a request for any graphics people...
i want to replace the top of this graphic (used in all sections - background3.png ) with one that has a smaller height on the top part (circled).
the top part uses a lot of vertical space.
that vertical space be better used on the left for menu options and file details.
that vertical space be better used on the right for file list entries.
the original picture had to be a composite of several photoshop layers.
maybe Harley could hook me up with the .psd file?
if someone can rename this topic to remove the "4:3" from it, that'd be easier than splitting this into two topics.
finishing up the 16:9 version.
it will be high-def.
any would-be skin developers may take note that moving from standard-def to high-def leaves alot of extra space on the screen.
i'm thinking about how it seems that 'Moving Pictures' somehow knows the difference between 4:3 and 16:9, because all the 16:9 backdrops are just beautiful.
well i've given your 16:9 a bit of a spin, so far i'm loving it, but i've noticed a couple of things that need tweaking:
- the icons are sitting to far to the left in my videos.
- in the music section all views appear to be fine except for filmstrip, it's offset to the left.
personally i think you should change the videos link to automatically open up the "theater view" and perhaps add a my tv series link to the home page or a button link within the my videos menu, because atm call me a noob, but i can't figure out how to navigate there
nice start for a 16:9 skin though, i'm definately going to be using it full time once it's done
i uploaded a special 4:3 done in 1024x768.
i mainly did it for people (like me) that run front-projector setups.
my projector (epson ex50) natively runs 4:3 at 1024x768.
16:9 just causes me to lose a total of about 1/3 of my potential display between the top and bottom.
default 4:3 causes me to get less resolution than I'm capable (720x480 vs. 1024x768).
until it gets approved for the file archive, get it here: http://wikitorrents.org/pwnage/pm3sexy43-1024x768_v1.87.zip
uploaded an update to the 1024x768 version.
releases all now use the release date as the version number.
changes are mainly to on-screen display and file browsing to fit the 1024x768 resolution.
