Yes.... 800x600 = 4x3.

I wanted something that would work with a native PC resolution that was supported by my PCtoTV converter. With 1024x768 everything was too small to read on my (NTSC) TV when working in Windows, even 800x600 is pushing it. I wouldn't have minded using a PAL resolution skin, but it was being scaled to 800x600 on the PC then converted to NTSC (720x480) anyway, so I just eliminated one conversion step. When I eventually enter the digital age completely, and buy a widescreen HD TV, I can eliminate another conversion step.
