Thanks for the guess although since it's done this more than once, more than one day I suspect it's something in the episodescanner logic or syntax more than I'd suspect an issue with the host site. It seems the ERROR and pointer to line 178 is trying to help diagnoze the problem. I'm sure the author could be more certain... thanks!

are sure that you're running the latest release from the 1st page? There was a bug in the language stuff but i can't reproduce your error. If there is no de in config it doesn't search here for de.

Thanks for the help... I just began using episodescanner a few days back and had downloaded the version from the first page. The "header" in the log file (from my l-o-n-g log) has this:
    [Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    [Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] Started version #SVN 23.05.2011
[Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] use global TVDB API Key
    [Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] got Win32 Codepage: cp1252
    [Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] got resolved alias: cp1252
    [Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] using MySQL
[Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] TVDB Backend successfully initialized.
    [Sun Jun 5 16:26:43 2011] START seriessearch
As far as the language I was running maybe I confused you as to the order... I ran the run_once.bat and got these errors while I had the "de|en" included in my config.txt file. I have not been able to rerun run_once.bat with the updated (english only) config.txt because of the cache. I don't know whether running the debug or simply deleting the tmp folder would cause your episodescanner to go run correctly now that my config.txt is in an 'english' only mode or not; but I wanted to report this as it occurred!

    Does that help?

    Making progress...

UPDATE: I played around with the concepts you mentioned and came up with the attached batch file to rename Law & Order: LA in the mptvdb as well as set non-blank episodeNum to blank where I had no corresponding seriesNum. Then I run your episodescanner.exe

This seems like it does what I need for now... I have it set up to run as a scheduled task at 4:15 am -- 15 minutes after my daily update of the TV-Guide at 4:00 am. Sure, if I add a show to be recorded it will have no S/E data until the next morning when this runs, but isn't it wasteful to have the run_loop.bat running all the time? Or is that where the 'sleep' value = 60 (seconds) would come into play? Help me understand how often it's running/looping, and whether this would unnecessarily tie up my system. Also, I'm still a bit unclear on the backup, cleanup, and other "things" you can do based on the config.txt file.

As far as the version of episodescanner, the log still states: "Started version #SVN 23.05.2011" so maybe you overlooked this when you last released the app on June 01, 2011

And clearly, I am now able to run episodescanner successfully using "en" in my config.txt as did you. This does NOT explain the "Line 178" error I was experiencing when I had it set to the default: "de|en"

This is really shaping up for me - :D

    Hi,

I'm using your tool for a "long" time, but now I have the problem that it creates, in my opinion, to much traffic.

My Server machine is a W2K8R2 VM, the traffic of the last 6h from this machine is about 500MB.

Do you have an idea what goes wrong?

    -------------------
    Edit 1

I only use 4TR with Argus, no TV Server

    -------------------
    Edit 2

After running in Debug Mode everything seems to be ok  :sorry:

I will keep an eye on it ;)

Ok, Problem is not solved ...

Still 440 MB traffic to wunschliste.de in the last 6 hours.

You should then see, that it's getting data all the time in your output. In your posted debug is not one connection to wunschliste.

normally I can't see the cmd because run_loop.bat is started by the taskplanner after the system starts.

This morning I started the run_loop.bat manually and the traffic was normal, also the output on the cmd looked good.

When I started the Task by Taskplanner I had 30% load on the CPU by episodescanner, after starting the task with higher rights everything seems to be ok. We'll see.

    Thank you so far

    Hi folks,

I have some trouble getting this fine tool running as it should. :(
The main task of adding series and episodenumbers is running fine. But it won't check and remove those episodes from the schedule which are already listed in my TV-Series database.
Im quite sure I entered the correct paths in the config file, although I'm not so sure about the "tvseries_db_mainpath". Maybe this is the problem...
I read the whole thread but it seems non one else is complaining, so I certainly made a mistake somewhere... So if anyone can help me please give me hint :D
