    Hi,
Not an expert on this, but using it myself.
    - I guess you followed the steps on the first page? Is the tool actually running? If so it should open a dos window and show some text comments of what it does.
There is also a log file in the folder that will help people to check where the problem is.

The two areas where I encountered most problems was the database selection in the config file and to have the right paths to the databases as well as to the recorded files. I suggest to focus on this,
    Regards

Thanks for the reply, It's running but the only output I get in the dos window is 'TheTVDB backend failed with unknown error'. Last line of the log shows 'File does not exist: 500 can't connect to Thetvdb.com (bad hostname Thetvdb.com)'.

    Regards...

    Hi,
I am abroad, so I cannot check availability of thetvdb. Can you open the thetvdb.com webpage in your browser?

OK I solved the problem above, I run four systems through my router all working except the HTPC rebooted the router and now I'm getting results, The only thing I'm stuck on now are the paths to the databases.

    Ok,
There is different paths for the databases depending on MySQL or MSsql. Did you check whether your paths are matching to the db type used and the actual DB location? Using the right Username/pw for your db type?
What is the log file message now that the tvdb server can be found?
    Regards

I'm using Mysql...The log shows a load of recordings that have been cleaned up, So I guess the paths are correct....If I schedule a recording now will the extra data be added automatically ??

    Yes,
But you actually have to run the tool every xyz number of minutes or hours.
So the update is not done automatically, but only on the next run of the tool. You can have the tool run by e.g. task scheduler every hour of even more often.
I think mine is running every 20 minutes, which sounds excessive, but the actual load on the system is pretty low.
Also the task is only executed if the system is awake, but not if in sleep or hibernate mode.

OK I'll try scheduling a few recordings tomorrow and then run episodescanner and hopefully it will fill in the fields.....Thanks for the help so far, I've got further with this in the last hour than I did in two weeks on my own.

I've just tried scheduling a recording then ran run_once.bat, I then checked the program in the database and The fields are still empty. Last entry in the log is:

    [Thu Jun 21 15:42:57 2012] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Thu Jun 21 15:42:57 2012] use global TVDB API Key
    [Thu Jun 21 15:42:57 2012] using MySQL
    [Thu Jun 21 15:42:57 2012] START seriessearch
    [Thu Jun 21 15:42:57 2012] END seriessearch
    [Thu Jun 21 15:42:57 2012] Cleanup RecordingsDB

I've attached my config if that helps......TIA

Don't think this is scanning the database, I've got around 1000 channels....Thats a lot of program data but in the dos window the transition between START seriessearch and END seriessearch is instant, Surely it would take at least a few seconds to scan that many entries?.

Could someone please provide a link to a known good version that works with MP 1.2.3.

    Thanks.....
