You mean the USB Receiver? or are you talking about something else... Because I can't find a typo

Hi all,

I'm coming back to the topic to update my user experience with the ION. So far, it has done pretty much what I expected from a decent media center setup. Playing 720 & 1080 MKVs is a piece of cake thanks to CUDA, but the story isn't exactly the same for SD content (lo-res DivX/xvid and DVD rips).

My setup, as explained previously, relies on the CCCP codec pack. It includes FFDShow, which is the main engine for decoding and playing SD content. But the playback is choppy. Every 4-5 minutes, the playback freezes for about 1 to 1.5 seconds, then resumes normally. The audio never hangs or jitters. In order to monitor things, I've told FFDShow to display the cpu load on the screen, and the reported measures range between 8% and 25%, which is perfectly acceptable.

I'm wondering if anybody has already installed the latest FFDShow Tryouts on the ION -- specially the new betas that include DXVA hardware decoding. I'm also looking -- but without any success so far -- if there is any possibility to have the GPU play all SD content, just like CoreAVC does for HD...

After going deep with the settings, I found the solution to my recurring freeze problem on SD content... As odd as it seems, it was because FFDShow Audio was only set to support 16bit. I checked every box in the "supported output sample formats" area of the "output" pane, and no more freezes. That's really bizarre, but as far as it goes, it works.

Hey guys,

I just bought a ION 330 HT.

Now I am looking for a WORKING Analog USB TV Card. Any suggestions? Working solutions? Searched half the Forum but it looks like any available card makes people worry. Or is there one that will actually work? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I have problems with that the HD channels are stuttering when I watch Live-TV, no problem with SD.
I use the the CoreAVC 2 codec. There are no problems when I watch on movies in HD format.

Any suggestion?

BR,
Micke

There is currently a bug in TsReader which causes stuttering with HD content.
    It's currently being investigated.
For recordings - just rename them to .mkv for the moment so they are processed by the Haali splitter ;)

    Hi

I have a problem with spdif on my As(s)rock. The sound stutters often. I have MPC-HC and AC3filter on my Windows XP Pro. Everything in AC3 filter is set to use passhthrough, but doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?
