Trying to install TVServer and Media Portal on my server (Win 2K3 Server, P4 2.4GHz, 1GB Mem, 3TB storage) but not having much success. I'm using the latest SVN builds of both and TVe recognises and seems happy with my dual tuner USB stick.
I'm still testing and trying to get it working but a couple of quick questions first:
- I have MySQL loaded for another application so it seemed easy but I can't get MP to talk to the TVe. I see in the page for the latest SVN for TVe that it only mentions MS SQL Server. Has MySQL support been dropped? That would certainly explain the problems I'm having
- MP doesn't seem to work with on-board graphics. I tried it on my server and my laptop but no dice. It gave a message which I couldn't read as it was under the semi-transparent Media Portal startup banner but I think it was something to the effect that the graphics were not up to requirements, which is odd as both play video with no problems at all. I'm also testing on my workstation which doesn't have this problem but isn't working because of the above problem (I think).
I'm very sad that it doesn't work on the laptop as I was hoping to be able to stream TV and video to it. I can install a graphics card in the server so that I can test and watch TV on it but I've been doing my best to keep it quiet and that means having another fan. Any thoughts on allowing it to work with on-board graphics?
Thanks,
Simon.
