Total newbie here! First time installed today... trying to bail on MS Media Center.

I installed MP 2, but seem to be missing webEPG. I guess I want to use IMDB & webEPG.

No plugins show up in MP2>Settings, however WebEPG is listed in the Setup TV app >Plugins>webEPG.

There is no US www_imdb_com.xml grabber file in
C:]ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\US

In fact the "WebEPG\grabbers\US" part is not there at all, as thought something didn't get installed.

I thought that the www_imdb_com.xml grabber file and WebEPG was included with MP2.

Using Windows 7 x64.

As you can tell, I'm sort of stumbling around on my first install. Any help is really appreciated!

    Hello and welcome :)

trying to bail on MS Media Center.
As are a lot of people recently...
    Hope you like MP! :)

Well, WebEPG is a TV Server plugin, so this is exactly what you should expect. You enable WebEPG in the plugins section of Setup TV, and then configure it in the sub-section that becomes visible when you enable it.

There is no US www_imdb_com.xml grabber file in
    C:]ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\WebEPG\grabbers\US

Are you sure you're looking in ProgramData not Program Files?

I thought that the www_imdb_com.xml grabber file and WebEPG was included with MP2.
As above: they're actually part of TV Server. Latest versions of MP2 include a version of TV Server that we're calling NativeTV 3.0. So in other words, you could say they're included with MP2.

Wow! That was fast. Thanks.. Looks so cool... I want it to work!

TV Setup>Plugins>WebEPG is there, with it's 4 tabs. But the grabber is not in Program Data (Yup... NOT Program Files). The only two folders in C:]ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\ are \recordings and \timeshiftbuffer.

From what I can tell, I need to modify that file before I can get the EPG to work.

BTW, I have been searching, etc., trying not be an idiot. :) I am very computer literate... in the field forever... (since before Windows)[DOUBLEPOST=1438133894][/DOUBLEPOST]One thought... I installed using an account with admin privileges, then switched to a regular account called WatchTV to run MP. Could that make a difference? Maybe I should uninstall/reinstall using just the WatchTV account? The install is so simple, so I doubt I messed that up somehow.

Hmmm, this must be because the files are in a different place for MP2.
Have you tried searching for the file in Windows Explorer? ...searching the full OS drive (c:\)? I really would expect it to be there somewhere...

    OK. I'll search around.

I take it that once I find and manually modify the file that the EPG should be able to fetch guide data?

I searched. It is not there. Additionally, nothing found for "grabbers" either. Only one unrelated file searching for "imdb". Searched for all parts of the file name, etc. Really looks like it's just not there.

I've ran the setup again using Repair. Didn't help.
Would it work to download the file from the forum, create the missing directory structure and stick the file in there?

Really appreciate your help! :)[DOUBLEPOST=1438137485][/DOUBLEPOST]I shut down the MP2 services and uninstalled/reinstalled under the normal WatchTV account. Uninstall seemed successful. However, interestingly, it looks like some reg stuff does not uninstall because after the reinstall all of the channel mappings were still there for one of my 4 tuners. I have 2 Hauppauge 2250's providing 4 tuners for ATSC.

I checked for the grabber file, but still the only two folders in "C:]ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\" are "\recordings" and "\timeshiftbuffer".

Is there an emoticon for a tear?

    Additional info:
I have 39 channels in the All Channels group.

In TV Settings>Plugins WebEPG is checked. It is the only option I have checked.
In "MP2>Settings>Plugins" there is nothing listed.
In "MP2>Settings>Plugins>TV" I can set the number of rows and hours for the EPG.

    Okay.
Are you able to find a folder called "TuningParameters" anywhere on your c:\ drive?
The WebEPG grabber folder should be in the same folder as the TuningParameters folder...

Would it work to download the file from the forum, create the missing directory structure and stick the file in there?
Yes... but one has to know where the directory/folder should be placed. I'm not 100% sure that it is c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server.

I have 39 channels in the All Channels group.
...which means the TuningParameters folder must exist somewhere... and I'm hoping if you can find that, it will lead to the WebEPG folder.

One comment, you are asking about MP2 problems in the newcomers area. You might want to look in and post MP2 questions in one of the MP2 forum section.

I have not tried the newest MP2 summer release so don't have any hands on helpful suggestions to find the missing WebEPG/imdb files, But is seems like something key is missing from your MP2 installs
