OK, here we go: I exchanged the two files that @mm1352000 posted and scheduled some 10 different shows on different transponders, which should be more than enough to overload my four Tuners even if I here and there picked channelson the same Transponder.

In this case the messages I'm looking for are in MediaPortal.log. However, I'd prefer it if you would always always always please post full log files from both client and server.

...and that brings me to another important point that maybe you've forgotten: you have to apply the patch to the MediaPortal install directory. Patching the TV Server install directory actually won't have any effect.

As you know this is not very straightforward when you run a client/server environment.

Easy going please: When @melmak21 asked exactly where to exchange the files you did not see a need to answer. Now there is no need for irony either.

When exchanging the MediaPortal files, the conflict dialogue is now popping up as expected:

Is there anybody using TV Wishlist who could verify if these changes are compatible with the plugin? I understand that it is running at TV Server level, therefore it should not be affected.

    Thanks for confirming HTPC_Sourcer. (y)

As you know this is not very straightforward when you run a client/server environment.
I agree that it isn't as simple as using the watchdog on a client or single seat system, but I wouldn't say it is particularly complex either.

There is a pending patch for the watchdog to improve the situation:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/watchdog-improvements.118979/

Your input and testing there would be appreciated. ;)

In the meantime if the difficulty or time taken bothers you enough, it only takes a few minutes to simplify it by [for example] setting up TeamViewer/RDP/other to get access to the server from the clients (or vice versa) so you don't have to move between PCs. You could also create a bat script to automate the collection.

For what it's worth: from my perspective I really appreciate it when all the log files are provided. The minutes I spend asking for logs to be posted (or save by not having to ask) quickly add up due to the number of threads I participate in, and those minutes are minutes lost or saved for development. I freely admit I do sometimes find it frustrating to have to ask. I'm trying to be conscious of that frustration and avoid it spilling into my responses.

    Easy going please
Sorry if my post came across as harsh/angry/aggressive. It certainly wasn't intended that way.

When @melmak21 asked exactly where to exchange the files you did not see a need to answer.
I actually missed melmak21's post until you pointed it out. Too many things happening at once while I was trying to focus on assembling the patch and replying to RUE.

Now there is no need for irony either.
Hmmmm, this comment tells me my post really gave the opposite impression/effect to what I intended.
I wasn't trying to be ironic, and I'm sorry about the miscommunication.

Is there anybody using TV Wishlist who could verify if these changes are compatible with the plugin?
From the TVWishlist code it looks like TVDatabase.dll isn't compatible. The plugin code uses Schedule.isSameTransponder(). Having said that, it is probably possible to continue to use the old TVDatabase.dll with the new TvBusinessLayer.dll (which contains the actual fix).

Thanks for your help resolving this issue. :)

    @mm1352000 ,

    Don't worry;)

Regarding logs I actually thought about putting together a generic batch file while I was taking a walk. One that's slightly more intelligent and does not collect old copies, i.e. 25 old logs from MyFilm etc. but only the most recent *.log versions of both MePo and TVServer. Will do this over lunch break tomorrow. Will also have a look at the proposed watchdog improvement.

Having said that, it is probably possible to continue to use the old TVDatabase.dll with the new TvBusinessLayer.dll (which contains the actual fix).
Am I getting this right that it is sufficient to just exchange the TVBusinessLayer.dll and keep the original 1.9 TVDatabase.dll?

    Yes, I think so. I can't be 100% sure because I don't use TvWishList.
Take the TvBusinessLayer.dll and apply it to the MediaPortal and TV Server install folders.

I don't know. I didn't test; just looked at the code.

Hi Guys ... it seems the bug is up again running 1.10.

Can you please check if the patch is checked in correctly?
