TV - HTPC Connection: Via Onkyo TX-SR607

Hi I setup my new Onkyo TX-SR607 amp last night and have my HTPC connect via on-board HDMI to the amp then TV.

Everything seems to play fine (bitstream DTS & DD) but I cannot hear key press sounds and mp3.

So I press play on a song in my music and it play but I hear nothing.

Worked fine when plugged into TV (no amp)

mp3 files play fine in windows media player all system sounds work fine also.

I am using the LAV splitter and decoder

any ideas

I cant seem to play any files with DTS-HD audio track.

I put a copy of dtsdecoderdll.dll in my LAV folder.

I can play DTS and its bit-streamed to my Onkyo and shows a DTS light

In LAV audio configuration I have all bit-steaming options ticked except "Use DTS-HD Framing for all DTS types"

When I tick it I can play DTS-HD file and get the DTS logo on Onkyo. But am I getting the proper HD track I don't know?
Tried using that graphing program but cant get it to work

I don't use LAV Audio. Instead I use LAVF Splitter + ffdshow audio decoder. With this config DTS-HD does work for me.

In ffdshow audio decoder config you have to tick DTS-HD passthrough in the Tab "Output"

Hay man I uninstalled all the LAV stuff from my HTPC last night and installed FFDShow tryouts and everything is being bitstreamed correctly now.

Is there any reason you use the LAV splitter? I have Haali on mine (seems I had to install it for windows to recognise MKV even with LAV splitter installed)

It works which is great just everyone has a different setup so I'm not sure which is best?

Also is there a dedicated DTS-HD logo on my receiver or does it just show the standard DTS logo for normal and HD (had a look at the screen and could not see one) If not how do I know its actually bit-streaming DTS-HD and not the core DTS track?

    Hello!
Thats exactly the reason why I use LAVF Splitter and uninstalled Haali Splitter. Haali Splitter is mainly dead and as far as I know can't bitstream HD Audio. LAVF Splitter can passthrough HD Audio.
There should be a DTS-HD logo on your receiver. But I think with Haali you can only get DTS out of DTS-HD.

Ok then well I will have a crack at unistalling haali installing LAV splitter and letting FFDShow decoding the lot?

Know anywhere I can get a good guide for FFDShow?

    Thanks again
