No mp3 or menu sounds through TX-SR607 (1 Viewer)

Tried that last night and I'm now getting reliable dts bitstreaming for all my movies. Only I still cant tell if I'm getting DTS-HD as only the DTS logo lights up. Is there any other way to see if I'm getting it?

In you direct sound device screen in devices menu what to have selected Realtek or your Denon 1909?

I don't know exactly what you mean.
Your sound device needs to be HDMI Output else you won't get DTS-HD. See attached screenshot.
In MediaPortal Config I use as Audio Renderer "Default DirectSound Device".

Could you post a screenshot while playing a video with HD Sound with stats enabled (shift+1) to see which codecs are really in use?

Are you sure that your onboard GPU can bitstream HD audio???

I'm at work at the moment so will have to look when I get home but my direct sound device is listed as Onkyo TX-SR607 both the i3 and the Onkyo I know can do HD audio.

I have got the newest drivers from Realtek so I will update and then give some screen shots

Ok dude here is screen shots of everything I could think of

This next one is where I think the problem lies it. It says DTS Audio but no mention of DTS-HD but I know my receiver can do it and so can sandybridge so I'm stumped

Okay.. you need a newer ffdshow version. Look here: ffdshow - Browse /SVN builds by clsid/generic builds at SourceForge.net

Then you will see in the ffdshow audio decoder config under the Tab "Output" DTS-HD & TrueHD not only AC3 & DTS.
Everything else looks right.

Cheers for the help downloaded from the link and reinstalled ffdshow, Set it up as I had it before, But now my amp keeps clicking and titles with DTS-HD just wont play.

I think it might be best to restore to an image I made before is started installing codecs and stuff and start over.

Would I be able to back up my databases and reimport them?

Hey Holzi I think I worked out what the problem is the link was to the generic SVN and I have 64bit OS so need to do both generic and 64bit builds.

I'm going to start from scratch anyway just to keep things simple.

So on clean system I will install Haali and then uninstall it to get windows to recognise MKV?
Install LAV splitter
Install both 64 & 32bit FFDShow SVNs
Config audio settings for all
Install MePo
Restore databases

Does this look good to you?

Looks good. But you only need 32bit FFDShow because MediaPortal is 32bit.

Ok I'm certain now that this is the problem

As you can see it does not list DTS-HD but it should look like this

I cant work out if this is a driver problem or the Onkyo is not sending the correct EDID to the board I will have a little play leater tonight and see what I can find

Pulling my hair out here as if I cant fix it with drivers and the like its going to mean a new board and even then I cant be sure it will work.

The next statement looks promising so I will try that tonight as well and give some feed back. Fingers crossed.

So today I went a bought a GT430. Hooked it up and ofcourse everythng worked out of the box. Tried the 23.976 playback and it was all good. But toying around with different hz settings got me noticing that the hd codecs went missing on all hz settings but 23/24 and 50 hz. Ofcourse these are all the hz settings the avr should recognize since they are not built for pcs. So I thought that maybe the edid info is only correct when using a default PAL hz settings?

I just had to try it with the intel gfx so i ripped the nvidia card out and reinstalled the Intel driver. And of course it worked! But it seems the intel card only refresh info on boot. So as long as I booted with 50 or 23 hz I could change hz in windows and retain my codecs, seems like the nvidia card refreshed whenever hz was changed.

Now I only did a quick test so this might just all be a fluke, maybe the nvidia driver did something? What are your thoughts?
