These options are different for every configuration :)

But i guess you got that part.

But am i correct to assume that you use the audio from the ATI card to your "small screen" :p

If so this is probably a stereo device, so i would suggest the settings which i already mentioned in my previous post, which i edited after you first read it.

    Good luck

    Try uninstalling saf.

And then reinstall saf and answer no to the audio passthrough question.

I guess then all defaults should be oke.

Please confirm the type of audio in the files you are having problems with.

You have created a graph of the file with FFDShow for audio and video, does this play in GraphStudio??

Have you tried changing the audio codec in MP to something else?

I am guessing that is it more than likely a problem with FFDShow audio.

To eiliminate player problem, open your video in Graphstudio (installed by SAF) and hit play. If video plays here, then problem lies in player, not decoders.

it plays fine in Graphstudio; WMP classic and PowerDVD and TMT but not in MP. not sure how to get the file info to find out the HD audio type.

So looking at your logs you click on the file and it basically stops instantly?

Could you launch MP log collector and start MP that way, attempt to play video and then post logs created that way please?

not sure how to get the file info to find out the HD audio type.
MediaInfo will do the trick (but having looked at your logs it does show what I wanted to know)

    yes. stops instantly
i collected all my log files using the MP debug mode in the start menu
i'll have to make an excuse to run away from work to use the MP log collector and get the file info.

Log collector should also try and produce a screenshot of the graph it is trying to produce.

Also noticed that you have FFDShow set as a post-processing filter. Can you disable it to see if that helps? If not can you try removing (not just unticking) all post-processing filters
