Just tried playing a DVD (an original one). Selected DD explictly in the DVD setup.
But my AVR still says 'PCM', coming from the SPDIF. Any idea?

no idea.

this thread was for No S/PDIF when BASS audio engine is selected.
It seems to be solved now.

When you have problems playing a DVD, it might not be related to the BASS engine at all.
You even didn't indicate that BASS was enabled.
