I installed MediaPortal 2 but found that it had no TV tuner support.
I have had to install mediaPortal 1 instead.
Is there a solution to enable TV support in MediaPortal 2.

    Hello

Yes, there are 2 options for TV support in MP2:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/2_MEDIAPORTAL_2/9_Reference/TV_support

    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensions/mp2-plugins/slimtv-mpextended
    https://www.team-mediaportal.com/extensions/slimtv-nativetv

However, don't assume that going with MediaPortal 2 is the right thing to do.
MediaPortal 2 is still "alpha" software... which means it is a work in progress.
MediaPortal 2's TV support in particular is not as stable and polished as MediaPortal 1's.
At the moment most people still use MediaPortal 1, especially if they want to use MediaPortal for TV.

    Regards,
    mm

Now, 'nativetv' and 'mpextended'?...I understand (now, at least) that MPextended is ONLY for MP1...am I correct?

You can use MPextenden if you have already installed MP1 with TV Server, this option was intended for people who had a working MP1 version and wanted to try MP2. If you are starting "new" then the best option to get TV in MP2 is the first link NativeTV 3:

hi MM...nice links, but no references on where to download the tve plugins from
What about the big, fat "download" buttons on the right hand side of the pages in the last 2 links I posted? ;)

I note that you are using MP2. The following applies to MP1, but I think that MP2 is identical in this situation. "TV Server Config" has a "TV Mapping" panel in the "TV Channels" section. On the "TV Mapping" tab: The left column lists the channels that have not yet been mapped to the TV tuner identified by the drop-down menu just...

yes that is indeed what I did in that ticket. It may already be working without updating those plugins because most of it was not relevant to the plugin itself (test, some leftover unused parts etc).

Well, all that remains is to find someone who will add this render if it is a render.

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1
