Of course I can confirm that - if low reception causes tuning to fail some channels are affected way earlier. In addition some transponders (like the earlier ProSieben's) where affected by e.g. DECT telephones and other devices.

I think this is not an issue of low reception, because with TVE2 everthing work fine. I also dont unterstand why signal strength is "100" and quality is "0"

BDA drivers can report the signal statics how they feel like. Unfortunately there isn't any specs how that should be done :(

I have the same problem with an Asus MyCinema P7131 Hybrid.
All analog channels produce the error " No video/audio detected" in mediaportal with latest svn.

Same problem here - "no video/audio detected" only on analog channels, since upgrading to the latest few svns.

    Digital channels work fine.

    Same problem.

    Fresh install using:

    tvengine3-01-13-2008--01-08h--Rev17020.zip
    MediaPortal-svn--01-13-2008--01-04-Rev17020.exe

When I go into the TV Server GUI, --> Manual Control. choose a channel (ANY channel) and click "Start Timeshift", I recieve the "No video/audio detected".

I really like mediaportal, but it is one hell of a bitch to get working. I've installed it many-a times and every single time I run into a new problem. Will be good once it becomes nice and stable.

    Cheers,

As described earlier everything worked fine for me. Then my motherboard crashed and I have board a new motherboard and CPU (now Intel E6750). I have installed everything new and I fall into this bug. The only difference I see with the installation is that I have installed sql server 2005 (instead of my SQL)
I can not imagine that the issue is hardware related. (you nvever know but it would be suprising)
    just one more thing:
What I am wondering is why this thread is getting only low attention to development. Seems a serious issue hitting many users.

I have been a Mediaportal user for two years and have never experienced this problem before now. I cannot remember changing hardware or software prior to this bug occuring on my system. The problem is always there and a complete reinstall of Windows/Mediaportal did not solve the issue.

    I have FloppyDTV-C with Conax.

When you spend 1500 euro on a HTPC and spend at least an hour every day trying to fix this issue you wonder why you bothered in the firstplace. I have re-formated twise, once with vista and I have numberous issues. I love media portal but would rather you charged me 100 euro for a program that is going to be 100% stable instead of it being free and waiting for this issue to be fixed

the list of issue I have is beond a joke:

Cyberlink audio and video codecs don't work.
TVserver channels scans randomly fail at least 2 transponders every time.
no audio/ video on channels changes
on other channel changes it will play the old ts file in a loop and you have to restart
media portal randomly crashes to the desktop.
    I'm sure there is more

We all hate running in to these bugs, I too would like to see this fixed, but you can't complain - it's free!
If you want to pay for htpc software, you can buy windows media center, sage etc.

Having that angry tone in your complaint/bug report is not going to make the developers want to help you
. They're doing it in their free time, and not making you pay for any of their work...

I don't think I have an angry tone. I'm just being honest! I'm fed up of trying svn after svn for the last 3 months hoping that this svn will fix it. I would rather give these guys 100 euros for a stable media portal because it is the best app around. no one pays them so they can't do it full time. All the apps you said above don't come close to media portal and don't support most cards or mdapi.

Remember that MDAPI is not supported by the team. Also previously it has itself been causing a lot of issues.
