    Hi Gibman,
thank you for responding. The issue from my side is definitely not related signal problems, disspace or anything like this. As reported earlier it all used to work quiete well until I had to reinstall. I have changed my motherboard and cpu and yes I have not install my sql. Also I have installed the latest SVNs. I have checked with TV-setup and here it is saying that my card is busy. It is probably related to TS but have not seen any 0KB issue on my system. Some how the transponder gets and stays blocked.
I understand that you can not replicate the problem. How can we help to get this fixed then ?

just to confirm the current status. I have installed the most up to date SVNs (17044). I also have installed mySQL now. The problem is still there. (no audio/video detected) for some channels.

I'm actually glad i found this thread, because I was really beginning to wonder what was going on with my setup.

I have a FloppyDTV-C card which works perfectly, but there are a couple of channel that refuse to work. When I try to start timeshifting on one of these channels (for example Hallmark Channel) in in the TV-server management console, it gives me a No audio/video error. Reading the logs it says that it successfully tunes the channel, and it manages to decode it..

    card: Tuner locked:True signal strength:100 signal quality:100
    card: WaitForUnScrambledSignal
    card: return not scrambled

    then this happens:

    card: timeshifting fileSize:0 TIMEOUT

and the dreaded "No video/audio detected" - message is displayed

The channels work fine in my settopbox, so there is no problem with my card. I have been trying several htpc-applications, but none work on these channels. The strangest thing is that these channels are detected as radio-channels in FireDTV Viewer.

Anybody know what could be causing this?

Anybody here from Norway with Canal Digital Cable TV that can confirm that Hallmark channel works with Fire/FloppyDTV?

I wanted a mpeg encoder card, so i removed my asus P3171 hybrid with the "No video/audio detected" issue, and installed a hauppauge wintv-hvr-1300 and it worked immediately. Exactly same SVN versions, everything.

So i believe this is a drivers/supported hardware issue.

There are multiple reasons for the "no video / audio detected" issue. Only one of those are HW itself.

Also getting the "No video/audio detected error" on all channels. Tested on server and Client. Same results.
    See attached logs.

After running the Tvserver from the introduction without any major problems, i changed the computer hardware two weeks ago, installed the latest W2k3 R2 server on it.

Installed all the drivers without any problems.

From there on i installed MSSQL Express 2005, configured the "surface area" properly, and installed the "management studio" to set the max mem to 128 MB.

Installed the Tvserver (latest SVN). Struggled a bit with the XMLTV settings, but works ok now.

When i select a channel in the "Manual control" section en start Timeshifting nothing happens for a while. After 15 seconds i get the "no video/audio detected" error. this happens on all channels.

The file "D:\Mediaportal\Timeshifting\live1-0.ts" is created with filesize 0 and doesn't grow. After about 15 seconds it gets deleted.

Well i guess im not the only one with this problem. I hope that the attached logs will help...

Can U please tell me (read us) what you (developers) know so far about this error?
So maybe we can find the general reason for it together. I think in the end there must be a general reason causing it, initiated by different parameters like hardware, drivers and so on...... :D

tourettes had this to say on another post about this issue. I think it is the answer most of us are looking for.

I myself have FloppyDTV DVB-C and Twinhan DVB-C, both are working without any issues. But before you buy a new HW I would suggest that you would wait at least few weeks. There is currently ongoing some stream decoding changes in TsWriter.ax and it's possible that those are solving some of the "no video/audio detected" issues users have been seeing.

I won't promise anything, but I think waiting few weeks isn't that long time if you can save few bucks.

I have again tried the latest SVNs to test the current situation. After installing it the problem still occured. I have uninstalled MySQL and installed SQLExpress instead and configured everything as recommended. This did not help either.
I then uninstalled the latest driver for my Skystar 2 and installed an earlier version. Since then TV Server seems to work. Unfortunately with a fragmented screen only on SAP1 but at least with no "no video/audio detected. So far I can say that TVServer does not seem to work correctly with the latest drivers of SS2.
    Can anybody confirm ?

Well I guess noone tried those latest drivers as almost every SS2 owner will use its BDA drivers. Unfortunately the latest BDA driver package is broken and therefore the card is detected as an "ATSC" card. This is an american TV standard and completely useless in europe.

    Hi rtv

yes, I have seen some problem reports regarding different drivers. I have to say that I never had an issue with the WDM driver from Skystar. My experience with the WDM driver was quite positive. Channel switching is very fast and it worked quite stable. (the problems started with one of the SVNs of last year)
I am wondering why I have this issue now. Based on your input I assume that this is a matter of testing as obviously only a few people seem to be using the WDM version.

Since I still have some issues with my current set up I would like to try a BDA driver version.
Hopefully I will find an older version then 441 which is the only and last version I found on the Technisat page.
(I understand TVE is not working with this one)
