No video/audio detected (5 Viewers)

Hi All, i`m glad, i came here at last. The same problem - SkyStar USB and Technisat 4.4.1 driver and TV_server/client do not work (works normally without server with just Mediaportal 0.2.3 installed).
I really wanted to install BDA driver in Vista. I`ve extracted \1535.dvb.4.4.1\BDA\TechniSat_BDA_4.4.1.zip and tried to propose this driver to my system (Vista 32 bit) but it refused to install them. Can anybody give me a hint where i was wrong? Maybe i need some other BDA driver? (and i have diseq - do BDA work with it?). Thanks in advance

Looks like I've got the same bug. Running TV Server, Mediaportal, MS Sql Express - installed as per the online guids in the TVserver Wiki.
Using the latest SVNs and drivers.
Autoscan finds all the channels. ScanChannelsBDA finds all the channels, signal is OK. Yet when I try to switch to some channels I get the "No Video/Audio" error. The log files show that it locks to the channel, but trying to start timeshifting results in a timeout, which results in switching back to the original channel. Theres only one or two channels that I can actually view.
I'm on XP, with a Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T card. Tried a vista install, the Vista MCE finds all channels, and I can view all of them.
I've attached some logs.

I have now installed the BDA driver for my Skystar 2 PCI card on my XP version. Actually I can see no difference between the old WDM drivers and the latest BDA driver (version 4.4.1.) I still have some issues which are the same as before.
But the good news is that the system is still working. No "no audio...." message anymore. Looks like the problem on my system was really that the latest version of the SS2 WDM driver is not working with TVE3 (but it is working with a plain MP installation without TVE3). (An older WDM driver worked with TVE3 as well)
As previously said probably the issues are different but I assume that most of the problems are somehow related to HW and driver. (I can imagine that testing all the different combination of HW and driver and finally fixing issues is very difficult)

you are right I have been using the 4.4.0 WDM version but on XP. Please check out the link from rtv above. There you should be able to download 4.4.0. Not sure wheather this version works on Vista though.

As far as I know Diseq and BDA will not work. For the vista installation just try to use the "add hardware" option from the control panel. This type of installation might word. ( I have seen this once in one of the skystar forums)

- TsWriter determined Pid 0x1FFF as pcr pid which MUST BE WRONG because this pid can't be used. It's always invalid per definition
- TsWriter determined neither any video nor any audio pids for the channel "BBC FOUR"
Could please check the tuning details (pmt pid ...) TvEngine has stored for this channel with the ones MCE has found?
Just want to check if the pmt grabber has a problem or if it was a bug during channel scanning.

The problem with timeshifting channels like BBC FOUR has been with the TVSERVER for a long time, the channels record fine but fail on timeshifting.
If you look at the end of the TSwriter log file you will see a failure while trying to timeshift BBC FOUR and then no problems with recording the channel.
BBC FOUR is one of the UK channels that share their 24hr stream, it is these channels on the whole that cause the most problems with TVSERVER timeshifing.
When the TVSERVER setup scans the MUX frequencies it doesn't add to the shared channels the PID information for the OFF-time shared channels, it should I beleive (this also helps with failed recordings on the very first program of the day when pre- padding is used , i have edited the databse with success in the past )

Not sure how to find channel data from Windows MCE, but I found it in the "ScanChannelsBDA" log file, which I've attached. I've also attached a exported channel list from TVServer for comparison.
Using BBC FOUR (as an example), the TVEngine has got the correct frequency, but the VideoPID and AudioPID read 0. ScanChannelsBDA reports the VideoPID as 201 and the AudioPID as 401.
I've tried entering the VideoPID and AudioPID manually, and will test it when BBC FOUR is broadcasting.
I guess I'll have to check each channel manually.
