Hi I experienze realy slow zapping. When going from the EPG to the first live TV, there is something like 1 min or so.
Even when TV is showing, and I change to another channel, it is realy slow,. It continues on the old channel for some time, then a black screen for 15-20 sec then sometimes the sound appear, and then it changes to the new channel.

It is the same whether I zap between digital channels on the Hauppauge 2200 or on analog channels on PVR150

Another thing I noticed. If you are at the first page in MP, and have live TV in the little box in the left hand side; then if you want to close MP by clicking in the x in the upper right corner. This is also slow, MP continues to play the live tv for some time before it closes.
Using the last SVN, this close would happen right away.

Steen

Edit: this logs is collected when I changed channels a couple of times.
I started at the EPG, then selected DR1 waited and let it play for some time, then changed to TV2, waited and let it play, then went to the first page in MP and chosed the x in upper right corner and waited until MP closed.

what happens when you tune channels in TvServer Configuration?

are only channelchanges slow, or also first tunes?

Hi thank you for loking into this.

If I go to TV-server configuration, and then choose preview on a channel - il also starts very slow (with the latest SVN it started right away). And also closing the preview window is very slow (like 7-15 sec).

strange - i can not confirm such behaviour on dvb-s and dvb-t.
also your logs do not realy tell me anything that could cause it.

Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

    Hi

I have been looking into this in more detail.

If I save the ts file which is recorded during a channel change, then I can see that there is no black screen captured, despite the fact that I have a black screen for 15-20 sec or so, when looking at the live tv when the ts file was recorded.

I can also see, that at the moment I select another channel, and I get a black screen in live TV, the ts file actually continues til record on this old channel, then later it changes to the new channel, and in the ts file this is without any black screen in between.

If I try to play this ts file in windows media player, it crashes at the time of channel change, but playing the ts file in "my videos" inside MP everything is fine.

Does this indicate where the problem might be?

Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

I would say it i something in server side as TsReader log shows:

    21-02-2010 08:51:58.523 [700]OnZapping 80
    21-02-2010 08:51:58.524 [700]Request new PAT = 2
    21-02-2010 08:52:16.812 [f40]Video Continuity error... d ( prev 1 )
    21-02-2010 08:52:17.093 [f40]OnNewChannel pat version:1->2

Playing in my videos confirms that since if it plays nicely there it is nst likely not TsReader issue.

Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

    Thanks

Is there any setting on the Server side I need to look into?

Isn't it strange that it records a completely fine ts file, but in live TV I get this very slow response (also in preview in TV-server config).

Hopefully someone else can aswer to that. I have no knowledge on hybrid cards.

Actually no. Since in recordings you just dont know when the channel change was done it feels like the tuning is faster. You could try to remember what "frame" was visible when channel changed and they check how long the old channel actually plays in my videos. It should be almost the same amount of time what you have the zapping delay.

Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

The error you found in the hybrid cards log is in danish.

    Translated to english:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

"COM object that has been separated from its underlying RCW cannot be used"

Hopefully a dev will help me with this issue.
