Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

I looked in Mediaportal log.
This part is from when I select a TV channel from the EPG. And I have marked the part taking the longest time, something about CiMenu prepare - I don't have a CI (it is free channel DVB-T).
As you can see (if I have read the log correctly I started at 08:48:52 and at 08:51:18 I had picture!!!

Same problem here with slow channelchanges, my problem also seems to have something to do with cimenu:

AW: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

    Hi there,

I had the exact same problems with the slow responding / channel changing.
I wanted to contribute a little bit to the solution finding and startet to generate a complete set of logs.
Doing that I spotted some log entry regarding the IPTV-device. As I don't use this I disabled it in the server config.
Then I started MP and wanted to produce the logs. And look what happend: Tv started immediately and channel changing time is now down to 7 seconds.

I don't know if disabling of IPTV is responsable. But maybe one of you guys could try to confirm?

    Luca

PS: I added the logs before and after the disabling of IPTV. Think the old ones are a bit messy. Tell me if I should add/produce more info.

Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

I also have had the same problem among others, unfortunately I have already reverted to the older SVN because it was to much strain on the WAF, so I don't have logs.

I can confirm I also got extremely long wait times to change channels and start live tv. (15 seconds or more)

    I am using an HVR-1800 and HD-PVR.
I already had IPTV disabled and the problem still persisted.

I Just wanted to chime in and confirm I had similar issues, sorry for not having logs to post.
I saw no exceptions in the logs when I checked, and nothing out of the ordinary, so I don't think there was anything in them to shed any light on the wait anyways.

I can say that I reverted to the latest SVN and it worked perfectly, I switched back to RC1 and the problem came back, reverted once again and the problem vanished.

Once I get some time with the TV server for awhile without disturbing anyone watching it, I will give it a try again and drop off some logs.

Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

    Hi,

i also have problems with channel-changing times.
With mp 1.10 beta+ svn from 2.6 i had switching times between 1 sec in one bouquet (mean between the 4 channels from one company) and between bouquets somethin about 3 sec.

With the rc1 version, its over 5 sec and more (counted not stopped with a clock but too long to feel good with it) in one bouquet and between two bouquets also.

First time switching tv on also takes longer.

I am now using last svn with beta, because i cant watch tv with these long switching times.

Re: slow zapping like 30-60 sec

    Hi

I can confirm, that removing the IPTV channel in TV-server config dramatically improve the channel changing speed.

Before removing IPTV (I had two IPTV channels) i would have to wait like 60 sec or so for the first channel to show, now it is something like 5-8 sec.
Also changing from one channel to another is much faster now.

But still not as fast as the prevoius SVN.

i have also the same problem. start up of tv takes about 50 seconds and switching channels takes about 30 seconds doesn't matter if it's sd or hd. stopping takes about 8 seconds.
    logs included..

edit: deleting the iptv card in the server has nothing changed for me. i also never used this function in previous builds so i always disabled it.

Same here... but disabling my NOD32 antivirus is helping in this problem.
