that problem is clear to me. but as far as i'm concerned, overscna is just an option. why use it at all? just asking because my picture is good as it is without overscan, maybe i'm just an exception

Overscan is not always an option ;)

i have no choice with overscan

i cannot configure my graphic board to get rid of overscan. i would like, but i can't ... i know i should buy a new graphic board, but since mp setup offers overscan compensation, i can't understand why it isn't applied to the whole interface ...

In mce we have green selections , here we have other ones.
I would like to have other ones f.e. lite-black.
What are the names of the gfx that are responsible for that in your theme?

    now people... hold your seat...

the OVERSCAN ISSUES seem to be fixed!!!

mPod added a Patch from sourceforge to the svn today which lets you (everyone) set up the overscan area inside mp!
you can find these changes in the next svn build.

    how to do:

go to settings (inside mp) and setup your viewing area there - first upper left corner - enter - lower right corner - escape

and tataaaa, nonafo will be displayed without any overscan on your tv (this is as well working for every other skin)

i just had a quick test and it all seemed to work flawlessy!

please report if you get it working and if there are any bugs so that these can be fixed!

    Hello all,

First i want to send a big thanks to mofux and mpod who extended the overscan functionnality. I think this feature was realyy missing from mp.
    :D :D :D

So i have downloaded a svn from yesterday evening (20.06.06 22.14), i have also downloaded nonafo from the skin section of the site.

    setup all this together ....

went to settings, screen calibration, ...

    restart mp

    and tadaaaaaaaaaaaa .....

    flop !

    it doesn't work !

sc parameters are correctly seen by mp, since video and tv use them, but the skin doesn't :-(

the time/date at the bottom of the screen is cut :-(
the items on the left of the screen are all missing their first letters :-( :-(

I have surely missed something, could you please help me ?

    many thanks !

This is not the same parameter ! You have to go in the other menu (there is screen calibration and another one can't remember !) The one where you can shift the whole interface.

    That's it ! Have fun ! Greatest feature ever ! :D

sorry for my bad description last time... here is a better guide (i used English language Settings)

    1) Start your Mediaportal (Make sure that you didn't dropped out "Settings" in Nonafo Setup

    2) Goto "Settings" which should be an Icon in your Basichomescreen... if not see 1

    3) Goto "Screen Calib."

    4) Select "UI Calibration"

    5) Setup the upper left corner where the GUI should begin (usually move down right with cursors), when done press ENTER/OK

    6) Setup the lower right corner (this should scale the background), when done press ESC

    7) Be happy to have it working now ;)

btw - don't be afraid because there is the "Under Construction" Background - it will still work ;)

Post if it worked this time

    mofux,

Still working on Nonafo? It seems 3DMP gets all the attention this week, but hopefully your excellent skin keeps improving. :)

I've chosen to use it for my new HTPC, and now I've got some newbie questions and comments. Some of these may not be specific to just your skin. And remember this is all from the perspective of a new user and meant as constructive criticism. I love your skin. ;)

    Home screen

    - The distance between the icons and the explanatory text on top makes new users have to look around to verify what they are selecting.

    - The current way of hilighting the selected item is the same color as the nonselected items, and the ball in the middle hides a large part of the icon. I.e. your covering up the item the user is sure to look at. Perhaps removing the ball and fading the circle around the nonselected items would be enough?

    - Some of the icons are hard to associate with their target. For instance, you've got that cool retro TV on the TV screen, yet you have a closeup of a plain, black remote on the home screen. Use that TV as much as possible! The radio icon is so close up that it's hard to tell what it is.

    - I saw requests for color theme support earlier in this thread. Here's a vote for that! Maybe the Chameleon mod can be applied to your skin as well? https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=16269

    - The background on the weather screen seems to be optimized for the 4 day forecast. The dark boxes look out of place if you view just a single day.

    - When listening to radio, the channel logo is displayed on top of a CD case, as if it was a normal music track. Just displaying the logo would make more sense.

    - The on-screen keyboard still has the BlueTwo look.

    - Selecting 'Play CD' on the music screen has the same effect as selecting 'Shares'. Selecting 'Play CD' on the 'Shares' screen *does* start playing the CD. Btw, something like 'Library' seems more natural a term than 'Shares' here.

    - The List view for music, videos etc does not display a text for each item when the focus is on the command list on the left. Also, for consistency, shouldn't the 'hilight box' around the selected list item be rounded at one end to match the selection style when using the Big Icon List?

    - When using the Big Icons view, the selected folder icon is clipped at the top.

    - The small, simple icons used on the TV screen (i.e. the one with the retro TV) are not easily understood just by looking on them. The name of the selected command just above the icons or...something... ;) might help.

    - This should probably be asked in another forum (which one?) but why doesn't the TV preview show on the home screen unless timeshift is enabled? Currently timeshifting slows down channel changes way too much to be effective, but not using it means no preview elsewhere.

Hopefully you have time to comment.

    Keep up the good work!
