Hi, i'm pleased that you like Nonafo and yes - i'm still working on it and holding it up2date. here are some answers...

    - The distance between the icons and the explanatory text on top makes new users have to look around to verify what they are selecting.
it's been a hard design decision to do it this way, but believe me, it would look crappy if there was text under each button. and after some time using the skin you will quickly learn where to select what ;)

    - The current way of hilighting the selected item is the same color as the nonselected items, and the ball in the middle hides a large part of the icon. I.e. your covering up the item the user is sure to look at. Perhaps removing the ball and fading the circle around the nonselected items would be enough?
not a bad idea... i'll give it a try

    - Some of the icons are hard to associate with their target. For instance, you've got that cool retro TV on the TV screen, yet you have a closeup of a plain, black remote on the home screen. Use that TV as much as possible! The radio icon is so close up that it's hard to tell what it is.
yeah, the new icons are a step back from the older nonafo releases, and i'm sorry for that. i haven't created them on my own (i'm a really bad icon creator) and introduced them because i needed to make the process of autogenerating the homescreen more easy. in the previous version there was an image for selected / unselected state for EACH button. you can imagine what a hard work it would be for users to set it up correctly or create new icons/iconsets. but hey - if anyone has cool iconsets to offer i'd like to have a look on them!

    - I saw requests for color theme support earlier in this thread. Here's a vote for that! Maybe the Chameleon mod can be applied to your skin as well? https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=16269
i thought about implementing such features when nonafo is stable and bugfree enough - it should integrate in the Nonafo Configuration then

    - The background on the weather screen seems to be optimized for the 4 day forecast. The dark boxes look out of place if you view just a single day.
yeah, i know about this one. unforunately i can't do anything against it without disturbing the 4 day forecast (and i really like it as it is now)...

    - When listening to radio, the channel logo is displayed on top of a CD case, as if it was a normal music track. Just displaying the logo would make more sense
that's also a problem with the skinning engine. radio seems to use the "music overlay" and that's the one with the cd-case. so if i change it to have no cd-case also music wouldn't have it :( you see the problem?

    - The on-screen keyboard still has the BlueTwo look.
as far as i know this can't be changed by a skinner - the keyboard should look the same in other skins as well...

    - Selecting 'Play CD' on the music screen has the same effect as selecting 'Shares'. Selecting 'Play CD' on the 'Shares' screen *does* start playing the CD. Btw, something like 'Library' seems more natural a term than 'Shares' here.
the "Play CD" button is a placeholder until we have the functionality to link an action for playing a CD... so this behaviour is planned and not a bug...

    - The List view for music, videos etc does not display a text for each item when the focus is on the command list on the left. Also, for consistency, shouldn't the 'hilight box' around the selected list item be rounded at one end to match the selection style when using the Big Icon List?
can't do anything against that as well - limitation of the skinning engine...
about the round selection style... i don't think it would look that good (there are several lines sometimes it would look confusing with too many round endings)

    - When using the Big Icons view, the selected folder icon is clipped at the top.
in what view / section of mediaportal does this happen? but i think i can't do anything against this as well :(

    - The small, simple icons used on the TV screen (i.e. the one with the retro TV) are not easily understood just by looking on them. The name of the selected command just above the icons or...something... might help.
hmm, yeah, i tried this... but togglebuttons doesn't seem to have the #selectedbutton property - so i can't display thier text in a label :(
but it's the same as on the homescreen - you will get used to it and if you have a closer look they will make sense to you, hehe ;)

    - This should probably be asked in another forum (which one?) but why doesn't the TV preview show on the home screen unless timeshift is enabled? Currently timeshifting slows down channel changes way too much to be effective, but not using it means no preview elsewhere.
oh, never tried that, but if it's really acting like this you should make a bug report in the Bugs section of the forum

i hope you still enjoy using Nonafo and i'll do my best to hold this skin up to date ;)

    regards! mofux

    unbelivable !

RubaDuck7, you wrote everything that i would like to tell to mofux regarding this skin. I agree 100% with all your remarks, and you wrote them far better than i would have ! great ;-)

    two things to add :

The miniepg is a great feature of blueto, perhaps you could add it to nonafo. I was used to use this feature every day ...

I haven't been able to apprecaite the weather on the bottom of all screns because at the moment i have troubles with my internet connection for the htpc. The big problem is that this displays an error msg saying something like weatheroverlay.xml hasn't been found ... is there a way to disable this until i manage to get back the internet connection ?

    one last thing :
ui calibration works just great ! its a real progress i think, because now, any skin wil be fully usable on any screen.

this happens when weatheroverlay is enabled in the plugin section of the Configuration and you are using another skin (which doesn't support the weatheroverlay)... so just disable the plugin!

The MiniEPG AFAIK is included in Nonafo (and AFAIK (bis) the MiniEPG is a Mofux idea)
this is more an idea of the design team - not my own, but i'm the one who realized it in code finally :p

    hi mofux!

this ui calibration rocks! finally i can enjoy nonafo in full :D

there is a slight bug still... i calibrated ui and now i don't have overscan probs, but when playin music album, little album art at the bottom of the screen goes out of ui (falls down) and doesn't fit 'empty cd holder' picture frame...

feel free to do one :)

i'm not having a 16:9 device to create a skin for such, so sorry.
but if anybody wants to port nonafo to 16:9 he's welcome to do so

Atm I've got a 4:3 display, but in a near future I would like to switch to a 16:9 LCD.

Any chance to have the layerized file ? I mean working on PNG is not easy, I think you're using a kind of Photoshop or something like that ? Having the GFX source file would be great... (for moding too)
