Attached is Migue's working patch for 1.2 alpha (I hope Migue doesn't mind), working graphs and the analog TV CC screenshot from my Windows 7 PC. I couldn't get it to work in Windows XP - it seems like this patch requires Microsoft codecs. Don't forget to enable CC in subtitle menu (F9) or with L key on keyboard. For ATSC you still need to enable CoreCC in TV post processing.
Can anybody explain to me why is this not in Mantis yet? Many people requested this feature and I have Migue's patch WORKING on my PC, Migue has it working on his PC. Why can't we have it included in 1.2.0 Beta?
The US ATSC HDTV system originally specified two different kinds of closed captioning datastream standards—the original (available by Line 21) and another more modern version encoded in MPEG-2, the CEA-708 standard
If I'm not mistaken
isn't MPEG-4 also CEA-708? (this is what I'm UNABLE to view)
MPEG-2 also CEA-708? (this is what I'm ABLE to view)
CEA-608 (normally DVDs, Analong TV)... also able to view, all with the help of CC parser and line21
I'm unable to test this specific patch as I'm still using 1.1.0 of MP (on a side note: I'm running a patch that allow line21 pins)
Vff
just a little tip with HD's mpeg 2 with CC parser... for me it stutters like crazy with Nvidia drivers newer than 186.18 and yes some codec will not display CC.
This is the TV Part patch from Migue and little adaptation against 1.2.0Beta, the DVD part should be commit if all works good
I hope that it's working for you too
Seb.
For all you need CC, DVD GUI part patch is in SVN and ready for 1.2.0 Beta release. Now we need more feedback's for TV part so we can finish closed captions patch fully.
