Hey Whatisk, I just did a test with the following:

Series: 25
Seasons: 135
Episodes: 2532

MediaPortal: 0.2.3.0 RC1 (SVN 15507)
TVSeries: 1.2.0.0 (Latest SVN: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/svn_versions-t22053.html)

All seems to be ok, my database size is just under 5MB.

Maybe try match the TVSeries version, it might work for you. Its Highly unlikely you need the svn of MP, just stick to the 0.2.3.0RC1 release unless you need to e.g. support for latest Spinsafe Resolve skin.

Thanks heaps for testing that for me Damien :D

Out of curiosity, sis you have 'get info for whole series' ticked or unticked?
I have downloaded the latest my-tvseries dll from the link provided so I will give that a go sometime (currently I'm using the one from the download link here at MP). I was initially using Project Mayhem 3, but have moved to Spinsafe Revolve to check out the fanart, and an SVN is required for the latest version of the skin.

I'm not entirely sure what you meant by matching the TVSeries version as when I clicked on the link provided, it just downloaded a new TVSereis dll.

Anyways, fingers crossed this will work. If not, at least I have the DB I used in 0.2.2.0 stable working okay.

Thats what I was trying to say, use the same version as I am :)

Well, it's officially got the better of me  No matter what I try, I just can't get all the info downloaded properly.

Tried using the SVN from the link you gave and same thing happens...
I always check Heroes as it always seems to be the same series that don't get all the info. Though it's not always the same episodes. Sometimes it will be 1 or 2, other times 5 or more - always around the middle of the season though.

I have (from not getting all series info):
    Series: 58
    Seasons: 118
    Episodes: 1570
    Database size: 2.39MB

What other series experience this issue? I havent got Heroes to check.

    There are quite a few:
Heroes, Mythbusters, Deadliest Catch, Dexter, Drew Carey Show, Whose Line Is It Anyway... and it goes on.
And that's just from the shows that I have watched previously. I'm not sure about unwatched seasons/episodes.

I noticed that the plugin seems to update the database by episode. All details for episode one of all shows and season and then episode two, etc.
I thought that perhaps my system HDD was having problems keeping up using the write behind cache that is enabled by windows and so turned it off. It's the oldest drive in my HTPC and is a SATA I, where as all the other drives are SATA II. I then deleted the database and picked five shows and imported just them and it all seemed okay.
However when I ran it on the whole collection, it happened again :(

I've also noticed that sometimes when updating the DB, the files for series 'disappear' from the DB so that the show isn't listed in MP. I find that if I do an import with 'online data retrieval' turned off, they usually reappear again.

I'm beginning to think that perhaps it's some sort of hardware thing as turning off the write-behind cache initially seemed the most promising...

If its a hardware thing you will probably see errors in your Windows System Log from the Event Viewer.

I'm not sure what else you can try, probably a good idea to attach your your log (debug) after a successful import.

I'll check it out, but I'm not expecting to see anything there. I'm probably grasping at straws a little thinking it's hardware, but it's about the only thing left I can think of. I would think there would be more people reporting the same thing if it was something to do with the plugin. And the small test that worked fine with write behind turned off when it didn't work earlier made me think that as well (of course it could have been a fluke that it came through ok).

I'll look at attaching the log, but it's huge if I import all the series.

I think I'll give it a break for a day or two as I've been going at this on and off for days (not to mention that a full DB recreation is ~35min on dialup). Perhaps a break will give me a fresh perspective on it.

Thanks again for all the assistance Damien. I'll report back when I have another crack at nutting out what is happening.

    Whatisk,

Most likely this is not hardware but a problem with server timeouts. Last week there were some problems and it is having them again now (6AM EDT, 8/19). I notice you are on dial-up, this could exacerbate the server lag problem. The plugin is in a hurry so if it does not get a response pretty quick it moves on. I just did an update and got a timout on every series update. But if I go the the site it will load but takes a very long time (30+ seconds to display a page).

Thanks Clean, so you think it will work later today then, because yesterday I tried this plugin for the first time and it went well, but today when I should update it with some new series, so I removed everything from yesterday and now I cant get anything in to the database, it just says that "No Match Found, try to enter another name for the show".

Juppe - I'm getting the same result as you.

I've just rebuilt my HTPC from scratch and reinstalled everything - MP RD & latest MP-TVSeries. It seems that almost every series name it finds is giving me this message, but when I check www.thetvdb.com, the series is listed - spelling is correct (although there was one where I had an '&' instead of 'And', but that doesn't explain the rest).

Some of the series it has complained about are: 15 Storeys High, 24, Everybody Hates Chris, Doc Martin & Extras.

Anyone else seen this problem? Anyone resolved it?

    TIA
