    Hi Thomas

I've had a quick look at your logs. There is nothing wrong with the FireDTV - tuning is always successful. All the tune attempts in the logs except one are for the EPG grabber. The EPG grabber seems to be working okay. The one tune that you made also looks okay - timeshifting starts, then about 10 minutes later you stop the TV... no problems.

I'd say your problem must be with codecs or MediaPortal itself. Please list your codec settings for TV...

Having the same problem. No idea how to check on codecs used by the TV server. As it is, I can't get any TV to work through MP. I hit the preview button, and nothing appears within the server configuration.

    Hi Dukenukemx

Your problem is likely to be different because TV doesn't work when you try to preview it. Please post your TV server logs. These can be found in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\logs\ for Windows Vista or Windows 7, and in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\logs\ for Windows XP. Note that these folders may be hidden so enable viewing system files and folders (Google: "view system files folders").

P.S. It is the MediaPortal codec settings that you would need to look at, *not* TV Server.

    Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. I've been really busy lately...

I've been trying so many different codec combination, that I can't remember the original one.
I don't understand why this is a codec problem though. It works fine in debug mode...
I'll take a look Friday or Saturday and let you know my codec settings...

    Thanks!

    Hi Thomas

No worries for the delay. What do you mean by "debug mode"?
Do you mean "preview" in TV Server configuration, or do you really mean the "debug-mode" of MediaPortal?

Please do post the codec settings. I'm not sure about this, but it is possible that debug mode uses specific codecs that are known to be trouble free...

In preview in the TV configuration I only get audio no video. When I run MediaPortal in debug I get both audio and video when tuning to a channel.
Running MediaPortal in "normal" mode, nothing happens except for the progress animation.
I'll post the codec settings as soon as possible...

    Thank you for your help!

    My TV codecs are:
MPEG-2 video decoder: ffdshow Video Decoder
H.264 video decoder: MPC - Video decoder
MPEG/AAC audio decoder: ffdshow Audio Decoder
LATM AAC audio decoder: MONOGRAM AAC Decoder
DD+ audio decoder: ffdshow Audio Decoder
    Audio renderer: Default DirectSound Device

It's the same as under "Video Codecs"...

    Hi Thomas

Thank you for that. According to your earlier logs you have a quite a few other codecs that could work. The MPC video and audio decoders should only be used as a last resort. Try the following settings:

MPEG-2 video decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
H.264 video decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
MPEG/AAC audio decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
LATM AAC audio decoder: MONOGRAM AAC Decoder
DD+ audio decoder: ffdshow Audio Decoder
    Audio renderer: Default DirectSound Device

If the Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder also supports DD+ then select it there also.
If you really prefer ffdshow then you have to make sure that the "raw video" and "raw audio" formats are enabled in the ffdshow video and audio decoder settings. FFDShow can be difficult to get working (certainly it is difficult for me to explain) so I strongly recommend that you stick to the Microsoft decoders.
