Can anyone shed some light on this issue? I started this post almost 4 months ago and have yet to see any kind of useful suggestions. Only the list of twelve people having the same issue continuing to grow. Reading through all the replies its not just one brand /model of TV card or type of drivers. Its not just one or two people who configured something wrong because they didn't read the Wiki. Yes, I'm well aware that TVE3 is still Beta, but this is a serious problem that is preventing at least 12 people from being able to use TVE3. I REALLY APPRECIATE all the hard work that has already been put into MP that makes it the superior free software that it is. But it baffles me when a issue with the core program, such as this gets denied support for almost four months and counting....

I just read through this thread and a few others on the same subject that I found looking for help with this problem. I have a Leadtek Winfast PVR2000 hardware analog card and I have the same problem. I did not want to report this until I was sure I was not the cause of the problem. The card shows up in TV-engine but does not find any channels.
This problem started to appear in the tv-server sometime this spring. I have recently buildt a completely new HTPC and the problem remains, so it is not likely caused by other hardware or problems with the software installation. I'm running Vista. The card runs well with the bundeled application.

I am very surprised that this problem has not been acknowledged by any of the devs. I've never experienced anything similar in the years that I have been active in these forums. Usually the devs are very alert and at least acknowledge problems. Since this is such a serious one I am very surprised. To try to figure out what the problem is I´d like to ask the community two questions:

1. Is anyone using analog hardware cards, like my Winfast PVR2000, with the TV-engine with success?!

2. Has anyone tried contacting the devs directly or had any other news on the subject?

/ola

PS. As always - I am humbly and deeply aware that the devs are doing this on their sparetime and I truly love your effort and the project. That is why this makes me so sad. I do NOT wan't to abandon Mediaportal because of this but as it is now I can not watch my analog cable tv-channels.

Does anyone have any luck with Nvidia's DualTV analog card with newer build of TVserver?

Apparently this is still a problem. I get my NVidia DualTV card working fine in standalone Mediaportal, but no luck with the TV Server. I have tried several nightly builds going back as far as the server is still maintaining them with no luck.

Has anyone been able to find a work around to this?

I haven't tried tv server for a long time. However, I've read that you can edit the graphs for Tv server like the standalone mediaportal. I haven't try this but if you can edit these things yourself, you should be able to make it work by creating the same graph as the one used in the standalone mediaportal

Hi Lolento, thanks for the input. I will look into giving that a shot this weekend. I am pretty new to mediaportal, but I do understand what is going on with graphs (from getting SPDIF out on my windows media center machine a few years back).

I am having problems however finding how to actually change and impliment a graph in standalone or tvserver. I will continue looking, but if someone with more experience in these forums could point in a direction it would be greatly appreciated. I think it would be nice to have some instructions/link on how to fix this problem in this thread if possible.

Post your tv.log file czy cooter after trying a TVServer scan.
    Please use the latest build.

Thanks dman, here is my tv.log file after an analog scan using my NVIDIA DualTV. I moved up to the newest SVN to generate this file, but I have been using the build from 2-044-2008 lately because that seems to be the build that works with my HDHomerun. I would really like to get everything working with one version...

    This is a problem...
2008-02-25 07:34:31.613373 [4]: analog: failed to add audio compressor. you must install a supported audio encoder!

You need to have the NVIDIA Audio Encoder filter installed.
