I presume you were asking me. I taught the IR commands, I did not use the quick-setup. The STB is a Sky TV (NZ) Pace DS230NNZ.

Try using one of the existing Sky/Pace quick setup options, if they don't work try re-teaching the IR commands to the plugin. And failing that, have a look around on the net and see if you can find Pronto IR files for the STB. RemoteCentral.com is a good place to start.

Cheers,

Hi John

I have a similar problem with my Virgin Samsung STB (and pretty sure this occurs with some Pace STB's too)

Apparantly what Ive found out is that the IR receiver on the STB seems to 'fall asleep' after a random period of time and it can miss the first digit from the blaster. (However, it never seems to miss the 1st digit from the STB remote...very strange?!!)

Anyway... my work-around was to transmit a pre-change command (I used the # button from my STB remote as this isnt used for anything).

This was enough to 'wake up' the STB in time for the next 3 digits to follow .

i.e blaster sends '#' , '1' , '0' , '1' for channel 101 etc.
Ive have been using this dummy 'pre-change command' method for 12 months now and hasnt failed yet

Hope this helps (or hope this helps anybody else who is foolish like me and sticks wth this damn Samsung STB!!)

Cheers
Darren

What if neither of the original remotes have a # button? I have tried learning the blue button on both which is not normally in use other that with teletext. I then lined these up as the 'pre-change command' fir the two different boxes. I still appear to be having a problem when wanting the channel to change on the respective STB for a scheduled recording of a program.

Hi John

There is a known bug in TV engine 2, with respect to blasting on a scheduled program. They fixed this a few months ago on an SVN release, however the fix caused other major issues so the fix was retracted.

The fix is now only available in TV Engine 3 (TV server), which is why I have moved over to TV3 last month.
Please also bear in mind that if you do move over to TV3, then the MCE replacement plug-in does not work in TV3, hence Aaron releasing IR server to do the same Job (and more) you can download the latest version from this forum.

hope this helps

Cheers
Darren

    New Test Version Available

    Hey everyone,

There's a new test version available for download form the first post in the thread.

This version represents the biggest change to MCE Replacement plugin ever. All device access code has been rewritten to bring MCE Replacement Plugin into line with the IR Server Suite.

The MCE Replacement Driver is now obsolete!
This version of MCE Replacement plugin (and current IR Server Suite) can use the standard driver like the replacement driver. Just disable the HidIr service through the advanced configuration of the device. For more information, refer to the IR Server Suite Documentation.

Please uninstall your existing copy and start all your macros and stb configs over again from scratch.

Please report any bugs (even if you've reported them before).

I would like to ask people to now switch to IR Server Suite as I will be scaling back my support for the MCE Replacement Plugin. I will still try to fix bugs, and stay up to date with MediaPortal releases, but I won't be adding new features unless they are part of shared code with the IR Server Suite.

IR Server Suite does everything MCE Replacement does and more, so if there was ever a good time to make the move, now is it.

    Cheers,

    Hi Aaron

Where does the new version store the IR-command files? I want to zip and save them for when I rebuild my PediaPortal HTPC.

MCE Replacement Plugin stores it's IR commands in the following folders:

    XP:
    \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal MCE Replacement Plugin\IR

    Vista:
    \ProgramData\MediaPortal MCE Replacement Plugin\IR

    Hope that helps,

Updated the latest test version due to a bug in the input mapper code.

    elconejito:

You don't have to, but I suggest you do when you are ready. It opens up a lot of new possibilities and it's where all my efforts are going at the moment. IR Server Suite does everything MCE Replacement plugin does, and more.

I will support the MCE Replacement Plugin for a while, but there will come a time when I will stop.

I don't want to force people over, and I won't stop supporting MCE Replacement Plugin without giving everyone plenty of warning. I'm really just asking people to change over if they get a chance to.

    Cheers,

    New Test Version availabile

    Hello,

There's a new test version now available. The reported bugs from the last version have (hopefully) been fixed. Let me know if there's anything wrong.

    The only new features:
    * The ability to rename IR Commands and Macros.
    * You can now nest macros within macros.

I've also added some code to validate the names of IR Commands and Macros when they are created or renamed. This may prove to be too restrictive, if it blocks you from creating a macro or IR Command and you feel it is valid then please post here to let me know. Basically, IR Commands and macros must follow windows' file naming conventions, the method I've put in place may be slightly more restrictive, so let me know if it's a problem.

    Cheers,
