[OBSOLETE] Latest Test Version of MCE Replacement Plugin (7 Viewers)

I cannot get the MCE Replacement plugin to work in Windows Vista (UAC enabled). When I try to display the plugin configuation page, I get the error messages "Access is denied", "Failed to register for MCE Remote button presses". If I right-click the MediaPortal Configuration icon and select "Run as administrator" (disable UAC) I don't get the error when opening the plugin. However I have to run MediaPortal as administrator also to make my remote control settings work.

Is this a known problem with the MCE Replacement plugin?

I’m running the newest plugin I could find: MCE Replacement Plugin – 1.4.2 RC1.zip. Vista and MP 1.0.0.0.
I made a macro which is using “toggle input layer” but I keep getting this error: Cannot process unrecognized command "Toggle Input Layer"

I can't get this to work, two problems:
On startup:
Failed to register for MCE Remote Button presses
Timeout trying to write data to device

and
IR Commands New:
Pressing Learn, Failed to learn IR command after i press it...

Can anyone help with this?
I use the Old TV engine because i want to use my settopbox and its not that good configurable in the new tv engine! XP 32bit
Will post some logs tomorrow!
I rather use MyBlaster because of its simplicity but that one is broken, does anyone know a fix?

Crashes MP config and no external channel option.

I installed the IRSS for Mediaportal 1 (not the SVN but 1.0.2.0) using IR Server Suite - test Build 1.4.2.3281. Installed JUST the required bits, not the translator - didn't seem to be necessary.

1) Now when I try to start MP config it crashes out. Would have attached log zip but it doesn't seem to crate one - clear the logs, start config (crashes), collect logs - that crashes!

Now that isn't a major problem I can always deconfigure the IRSS if I need to (tedious but do-able).

2) In the IRSS config I set up my IR to be an Amstrad Digibox (it is), and use the test on, say, 106 [Sky 1] blasts it OK using the MCE IR.

Have made manual channels and set to the correct channel number [106], assigned to the right card - take took some reading! Can preview the analogue input fine.

But selecting a channel does NOT use the IR blasting (no blinking).


Since this is the first time I've tride to control a STB using IR blasting I'm probably doing something wrong. I see mention of setting the channel to 'external' but that seems to refer to an older MP version - I have no external tab when editing the channel.

Anyone see what I'm doing wrong


New Info

Selecting 'Simple' blasting has magically made it come to life - I had '3 digits' before', so that's the killer and no longer an issue - hooray.

Oh, I ONLY install the TVServer side of things, no control of MP, no command line tools, no debug stuff, just the one thing to control the STB.


(Still crashes MP config though - odd.)

PLEASE don't think I'm complaining. Although it IS annoying when things go wrong I KNOW that nothing is ever perfect - especially immediately. (Trust me, I'm trying to write a BDA dr4iver for the CielPlus and that is going nowhere fast at the moment!)
