Having a problem with TedTalks at the moment. I think it is downloading the file in it's entirety before playing. Problem is it takes about 3 minutes, and the "activity indicator" doesn't move while it is doing it, so it looks like MP has locked up

I just reinstalled all (do a sadly HDD format...) and I get the usual error when I try to play any "GameTrailers" video: "can't play...". I'm using the last SVN MP release

hm, I noticed that a lot of youtube vids can't be played (or don't get displayed in search results) because they are blocked for my country. Didn't know that. Is there a way to get rid of this? All these IP-Hider-Tools only work with a browser. How to get this to work within MediaPortal and this plugin?

    Sorry for my English!

My compliments for this great plugin. Works out of the box (with SAF), looks great, works fine. Thanks.

Re my TedTalks problem, it looks like any site configured as "Generic Site" downloads before playing. What is needed is two things:

    1. Animate the progress indicator, or at least display a "please wait" message
    2. The ability to stop mid-download

Some of the TedTalks videos are quite large, because they are HQ, and take some minutes to download.

Also are YouTube favourites broken for anyone else? I notice that YouTube has redesigned the web interface for favourites.

I have the stalling problem as well on some clips. It is a codec problem. The progress bar can't be animated, because the whole application is frozen in the graph building process (and that's the moment when the file is beeing downloaded). I am not sure why MediaPortal freezes when the DirectShow graph is build. Try to give a different codec for MP4 playback a higher merit. (The codec tab in configuration will allow selecting your codecs depending on filetype in a later version).

OK, I guess that does make sense, because it has started since I upgraded to the latest SAF. Trouble was I updated both Online Videos and SAF at the same time, so wasn't sure. I'll try another MP4 codec and let you (and Hoborg) know how I go.

You can integrate them just as they are, so you still have control over your scripts. Just add a new Site with Util Generic and add those links. If they get into the plugin source you can offload your server as scraping is done clientside ;) And if you know C# you can simply implement a siteutil and we would integrate that into OnlineVideos.
