ZDF Mediatek fails:(, all categories return "Error getting playback URLs for video" see attached screenshot. Also a log for an unsucessfull attempt to play 3Sat from the ZDF Mediatek and other categories and a sucessfull playback of the same station via ARD the Mediatek! Everything else except ZDF Mediatek seems to be working OK.

I've hopefully done my last fix for youtube. As they made it quite difficult to parse the correct urls, from now on it always uses the ytdlp parser that pablik implemented.
It automatically downloads the latest version so any fixes in there will be immediately picked up by onlinevideos.
Saved me over a 1000 lines of code and a lot of future headaches :)
You might need to increase the timeout in the OV config, as it is a bit slower than the old implementation.
15 seconds is enough for the majority of the tests I did, but you might need to play around with it a bit depending on your hardware.

Only drawback is that the latest ytdlp only works from windows 8 and higher, so for youtube on windows 7/xp doesn't work anymore

This addon has been pretty great for YouTube but there are now problems, roughly this time last week everything seemed fine. This is what I noticed over the past day with YouTube:

    1. Not many videos play, the majority report a stream error even after trying all available resolution options.
    2. Videos that do play seem somehow jerky, I tried playing with refresh rate but couldn't resolve it. Maybe a buffering thing?
    3. Videos that do play via streaming won't download for later viewing, download fails within seconds on all videos.
    4. Videos that do play and are are supposed to be English sometimes play in a random foreign language.
    5. Even with a 30 second timeout sometimes no result is returned.
    6. Timeout can sometimes be ignored which results in media portal hanging, this does not seem to happen with older videos.

I'll post again if I find more bugs.

First of all I only use OV Youtube for trailers.
I am in Perth Australia and now everything is working well. I have it set to 20 sec timeout with automatic resolution set to FHD. No buffering or stuttering. Downloads also seem fine.

Just pushed a new version of youtube. The previous one left behind zombie yt-dlp processes (in case of time-out?), which could seriously hurt performance of subsequent yt-dlp calls, video playback and others.

This version should fix that, so you might want to keep an eye out for leftovers. And for people that don't restart the htpc regularly: check taskmanager for leftover yt-dlp processes and either kill them or restart your machine...
