This plugin is not dead. I haven't had much time lately. I will release a new version sometime this week to address the following issues
- Google Videos no longer working
- Thumbnails saved in MP root
- Play videos in fullscreen instead of video window
- Use the Mplayer plugin instead of the FLVPlayer to play the flv videos
- Add option to find similar videos in youtube
- Additional videos sites will be added such as Gametrailers, VidiLife, VideoJug, and BlipTV

I have start working on viewing/adding favorites on youtube.
I'll check how feasible it is to access playlist and subscriptions.

The new version may not be able use the MPlayer plugin. Mplayer refuses to play videos from Google Videos, Metacafe, Grouper, and a couple of the new sites. When trying to play videos from these sites, mplayer logs the following error:
"stream not seekable"

If anyone knows how to fix this, let me know.

if not, we'll have to keep using the FLVPlayer :-(

If you install ffdshow you can play flv files in media portals video player.

Could this be used rather than the FLVPlayer ?

Last time I tried, it wouldn't stream flv videos. It would only play local flv videos.

could the RSS text between quotations ( goolge rss ) perhaps be truncated ?
