OnlineVideos Plugin (now with Apple trailers) (v0.32 01-28-2008) (2 Viewers)

Hi all,

great plugin and works fine with the release 0.2.3. The only thing I cannot do is stopping the youtube videos. In GoogleVids it works. I press ESC and it became small and runs in the lower corner but with you tube I have to wait until the film stops. Did I make a mistake in the installation process.

Not trying to be too critical here, but streaming in this plugin doesn't seem to work so well for me. Lately, the flv-player doesn't work anymore, so i use mplayer. But mplayer does not cope well with my slow wireless connection.
The "uitzendinggemist" plugin tells me that it is possible to have stable playback with minimal delay and basic time-search. Is there any possibility that this can be improved? Apple-trailers work hardly at all. Once a trailer starts stuttering (which is about 50% of the time), it will never get right again and mediaportal will often hang. To my inexperienced eyes it just needs some smarter buffering...

Or is there a setting I can alter that will improve at least the stuttering?

I knew this plugin was available, so I searched for it in the plugin section for ages...only to find out it cannot be found there! When are plugins placed in the Plugin download section?

If you are using the mplayer plugin, you can use the cache option. It defines the size of the cache/buffer in KB. If you don't set a cache size, mplayer will only use a very small buffer. I use normally a value of 8192.

I haven't looked at the BBC IPlayer so I couldn't say. Some sites make it very hard. I'll take a look and see. Do they have rss feeds?

I couldn't find an rss feed and I don't have permission to play videos because I'm not in the UK.

If I add ******* it will have to be as seperate module. But I have to make sure that it's possible first.

I checked it out and unfortunately they don't provide rss feeds.

I don't think any one knows this but any one with some coding knowledge can create modules that can be used by this plugin. All they have to do is extend a class and implement a couple methods. Once they have compiled the code, they can just copy the dll to the plugins/windows directory and the onlinevideos plugin will find it. Then they just add an entry into the OnlineVideoSites.xml.

If anyone is interested take a look at the some of the code on the mp-plugins project on sourceforge.

Anyone else have a problem with Youtube videos when ever I play one I only get sound and have to get into to task manager to end task on Media Portal to re-open it

My install isnt working at all. Apple videos dont stream, google doesnt show up in categories, and gametrailers i can see but they dont show up when clicked
