    There's a new test version up. 02-Feb-2007. Give that a try.

    Also, I have a feeling your problems might have something to do with MCE Replacement Tray running ... Do you run MCE Replacement Tray?

    If the new test version doesn't fix it then let me know and I'll keep trying.

    Cheers,

    There's a thread in this sub-forum called: Latest Test Version of MCE Replacement Plugin

    You can download it from the first post in that thread.

    also i presume this would go under a macro mode (not that i know how to do that yet either) but can i use tv power button to turn the power to my TV and my Stereo on and off?

    1. Your remote should have come with instructions on how to train the TV Power button to control a different device? (If not, PM me and I'll tell you what mine says)

    2. Assuming that you have the MCE IR Receiver, and need to use one blaster for your STB, you can use the other blaster to turn the second device (the one you didn't train your remote to control) on and off by

    a) Teaching the MCE Replacement Plugin (MCERPI) the ON/Off command for the 2nd device;
    b) Creating a macro which sends that command out the 2nd blaster;
    c) Enabling the Different Remote functionality of the MCERPI;
    d) Training the Different Remote handler the command from the TV Power button (as it is after you programmed it in step 1 above (sorry - I can't remember how to get to this in the MCERPI setup and the HTPC is in use...));
    e) Assigning the macro created in (b) to the TV Power button in the MCERPI mappings.

    Et voila! When you press the TV Power button, the remote controls the first device, and the MCERPI controls the second for you.

    Note that the HTPC must be on for this to work - wake it up before pressing the TV Power button...

    Note also that this assumes that the on/off commands for both devices are simple toggles, not one command for On and another for Off...

    There's been a bit of talk about this in the past, so I'll probably dig up that discussion and put a separate post in this sub-forum about it later.

    But to quickly answer your question. There are a number of reasons this can happen.

    0. You need to disable MediaPortal's built in MCE Remote support.

    1. You're using the default drivers, in which case you need to "remove replacement mappings" in the remote button mapping window.

    2. You may need to disable general HID in MediaPortal.

    3. Maybe: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Me...head-8c3cdb415dd4af22c06fdfa7f0e8b8ee1890fbf6

    Hope that helps,

    Aaron - bit of a problem here. I have previously used your plugin with great success (see earlier in this post) when it was version .2.0.

    I later headed off to try mythtv (yet again) because all my network is linux except for this media centre PC and i really want to go "all linux)". Anyway - couldn't get sky digibox control with any of the linux products so here i am back again. However, this time, my mce remote is not controlling the sky box at all. Just to recap:

    Installed .0.2.2
    Downloaded the latest plugin zip (supposed to be for .0.2.2??)
    Installed it - just fine
    Went into configuration and did just the basics. I went to device manager and and changed the driver to mce replacement as per your help notes.
    Then enabled extended logging, tune external channels and enable mce remote.
    I went into mce mapping buttons and removed mce replacment driver mappings
    Then I used the external channels section to setup sky as the quick setup (this is what worked before). When I click with the ps2 mouse on test channels, the blaster eye and the sky digibox remote command light all fire up as they should.

    However, when I use the mce remote, even after a reboot, absolutely zilch. the blaster fires but not the box itself.

    I presume i am doing something silly - can you help?

    Thanks

    Richard

    BTW - "enable mce remote" is still checked in mediaportal setup - is that ok?

    Firstly, welcome back!

    BTW = No.

    You need to disable MCE remote in MediaPortal setup otherwise it will interfere with the plugin. The plugin should be warning you about this?

    There are some issues in the current test release relating to accessing the blaster, I'm working on a fix at the moment and should have something new for testing in a couple of days.

    Try disabling MediaPortal's built in MCE remote support first and let me know if that doesn't solve your problems.

    @Everyone:

    Just for your general information, I've been off-line for nearly two days now thanks to a wicked electrical storm here that blew up my ADSL modem/router. But I'm back in business now.

    I've also just suffered a setback with multiple STB support because of a scheduled recording bug in MediaPortal. We put a fix in for it a while ago, but the fix has been removed because it caused some unexpected wacky-ness.

    Hopefully we'll have it cleared up soon.

    Cheers,
