    and-81,

I hoped you would do something like that!

Did the changes fix the 'known issue' with the number key messages?

I've used the latest Hip config and button map xml files from the MCE Replacement plugin, so without testing it myself (which I probably should do!) I will say yes.

No problem. I'm sure you will let me know if it has any problems. And I appreciate your efforts and interest in the plugin.

I'll be offline for about 3-4 days now, but I'll come back and update the MCE Replacement Plugin to 1.0.1 in the download section and also post the TV Server plugin to the download section as well.

I've done a lot of work over the last few days on making an MCE remote transceiver service that will regulate accessing the mce transceiver by multiple apps (in this case multiple plugins). It works great on one machine. But I'm struggling to get it to work over my network, which is one of the big wow features I'm hoping to include. It's using named pipes for Inter-Process communication (IPC) and they work great on my main pc, but it goes ugly when I try to use it over my network. Having said that, I still can't get my mediaportal client to talk to the TV server over my network either. I'm starting to think my HTPC needs a re-install of windows, maybe without all the slipstreaming and sliming down I applied to the last install with nLite. :)

This feature wont show up in the plugins until it's been tested a LOT more. But I might post a few test builds for people to try out over the next couple of weeks.

    Cheers,

Due to renewed interest in the Message Plugin I've posted it to the download section of the website. The source code has barely changed, but there's no reason for it to ever stop working. It's just so simple. And another good thing about it is that it uses MediaPortals own input mapper. So when that gets improved the plugin will benefit automatically.

    Cheers,

    THANK YOU!

That plugin is perfect for the way I use my computer with MediaPortal

    Hi Aaron!

Suspend / resume blasting works like a charm here now! (Although the screen is always black after resume, but this seems to be another problem that is already beeing worked on).

But one problem still remains... On page 15 in this thread I explained that I have some problems with my very old phillips tv. Based on some linux definition file of the remote you provided me with a TV_Source.ir file. If I use this file to blast, the TV at least shows with a blinking LED that something is transmitted (which it does not when I learn any code from my tv remote - amp remote works a dream). Unfortunately the tv does nothing except blinking - the transmitted command seems to be wrong, but at least the device code seems to be ok.

Can you tell me how you "translated" the number I gave you to the .ir file? For me the ir file is completely different to what you gave me.

BTW: Isn't the code for "tv source select" somehow unified at least within phillips tvs? Does it make sense to get this code as pronto file for other phillips tvs and try these?

Thanks a lot for all your help!

    Michael

    Some observations

    Hi guys,

I have done some strange observations, am I the only one (and maybe my brain is playing tricks on me), but using blasting with the eventmapper works lets say 40%, but using the remote to do the same blasting commands (mapped) works 80% of the time?
    I might just be me.

However, I got my Altec Lansing speakers partly responding now! Great succes!

It's all a matter of having the right codes. But since you say you are using the same codes check the following:

    • placement of the bug on the receiving equipment.
    • make sure the receiving equipment does no 'see' the IR signal from the remote that triggers the blasting at the same time as the IR signal from the bug!

For my speaker system (Logitech z5500), I put the bug into the speaker control unit and masked the IR window from the inside

That a great idea, once I am done with my exam tomorrow I'll open the receiver and place the bug inside. Gonna fire up my Dremmel for this.
