forgot to mention that blaster.exe from myblaster plugin worked great when I've tested the learning with the original MCE driver, the problem with myblaster was I coudn't see any flashes from the IR when I've changed the channel.
I've downloded a few files from the files you've mentiond, how do I convert them to your plugin ?

Get your hands on CCF Extractor from the maker of HIP here ...

It can extract the IR codes from the Pronto CCF file. You just need to put the text of those codes into a file and give it a ".IR" extension and put it in the "IR" folder of the plugin.

I'm sorry about the compatibilty issues, they are inherited because I use the MceIrApi to access the driver. I've looked at getting around the MceIrApi, but for now it is the best way available. This may change in the future, but for now, it is what it is.

I've developed a new client/server setup for using the MceIrApi. It lets you use an MCE transceiver over a LAN, and it is specially designed for running the TV Engine and MediaPortal on either the same computer or over a network and giving both access to the MCE transceiver. But because it lets you share one MCE transceiver over a LAN it has some other interesting possibilities. If you're interested in helping me test this new setup then drop me a private message and I'll get you started. I've got new versions of the MCE Replacement Plugin and my TV3 Blaster plugin ready to go. And I've got Jesper (MZWiZard) helping me test at the moment and we are making good progress, but if anyone else would like to jump onboard it can only make this better.

no success yet... but i haven't had a chance to test it on my htpc with the mce remote (hard drive crashed ). I'm hoping to give it another try this weekend, so i'll definetly let you know how it goes!

ok - just tried with my music pc, with a mce remote connected. still no luck unfortunately

(good news is that my other feature request, popping up a message in a macro, is working perfectly and is EXACTLY what i needed for an added touch of professionality to my setup. thanks heaps!! )

Alright, I'll try and figure out what's going on with that code. I might even overhaul the Event Mapper code to map for Actions as well ... At the moment it only maps for GUIMessage's.

I'll get back to you soon with something to try.

MCEReplacementTray.exe throws a message

Hi,

I just copied MCEReplacementTray.exe from the Test version 1.0.1 and assigned a button from a different remote to it, works okay and launch mediaportal however I have to click ok on keyboard to pass 2 dialog boxes, one with "key: xxxx trigger: xxxx" and then a box with "launch" before it launches

Is there a version without the message boxes I can download somewhere or can you make it available ?

Sorry, that's some testing code left in that test version.

I'll be updating the main download to the new version as soon as I iron out the last couple of issues. It the meantime I've attached a new version of the tray app (just the .exe) to this post ...

Problems learning (me or it?)

I am sorry to have to ask for help as it seems you have already put in so much hard work.

I am having real problems with the learning capability.

I have installed the plugin and installed the replacement driver (I have tried it without and it seems to make no difference). I then disable the standard MCE remote support and enable and configure the plugin.

When I then select 'new' the learning dialog box appears. I provide it with a name and click learn.

It then 'appears' to learn the code and turns reassuringly green. When I press test however, whilst both blasters flash absolutely nothing else happens.

I have tried different buttons, different remotes, switching between blaster 1,2 and both but nothing seems to make any difference.

I have also noticed that it is only able to learn one code at a time without restarting cinfiguration.exe. ie. if I click new again (or edit) and click (re)learn it tells me it has learnt before I have even got my finger near the remote and I thne have to okay out of set up and go back in again.

I can't help feeling I am doing something wrong as despite reading this thread from end to end I can't seem to find anyone else having the same problem.

Details are below, if you need to know anything else let me know.

Sorry to be a pain but this plugin looks fantastic and looks like it will do exactly what I want, it just doesn't seem to want to let me!
