When I installed mynetflix, It listed the skins I had installed for MP, and 3 of them were checked(blue3) (blue3wide) and (xface). I let it install in all of them, even though I only use xface now. However it didn't install the mynetflix.xml file for the skin in the xface folder. It installed the XML file in all the other skins I selected, but not xface.

My question is...is there an XML file for xface and it just doesn't work properly (or i'm doing something wrong), or have you not created an xml file for that skin?

I really like this plugin, and it works for all the other skins, but not xface. If you haven't skinned it for xface yet, thats totally fine and I will just switch skins, but if you have, i'd love to know how to get it to work. Thank you.

Quick question:

Is this plugin using a derivative of my AHK netflix silverlight control script to gain remote control, or another method?

I'm looking for ways to improve the automation of the netflix player and didn't want to waste time looking over this plugin if it's already using my code. (if it is using my code, there has been some recent updates to it).

    Hi Brainbone,
Yes, the base of the script was built from your script for Sage. I modified the 0.9 version, is there a newer version?

Do you have sub accounts set up for your DVD queue?

No, I only have a single account authorized.

Let me rephrase the question. Do you have sub accounts set up on the Netflix site? If so, do you have one account that has DVD delivery and another account you use for Instant viewing? If that is the case, you should authorize the main account first, then authorize the sub accounts.

    Hey senseless,
Unfortunately no, I have not skinned XFace just yet (I think you were the first to ask.) I will be travelling this weekend, but I will find some time shortly after to get something going for you...

    Yes Framework 3.5 is installed.

    Hey bjohnson,
I wish I knew what direction to lead you in. whenever you click the Authorize button it should open an Internet Explorer (or default browser) to allow you to enter your credentials. Could there be an issue opening the default browser?

    >I have validated this issue, good find! I have corrected it and it will be in the next release...

Excellent Wile E. ! Looking forward to the next release; that'll be a big help in the usage. :D

The newer versions don't click the fullscreen button. Instead, they stretch the browser window to avoid problems with keeping the host window (SageTV in my case) focused and accepting remote input -- but the newer version is more directed at the Netflix SageTV and less general purpose. Take a look at the Netflix SageMC thread on the SageTV forums. There have also been some recent changes to the sensitivity of the image search and the time-line slider loop solving issues with silverlight 3 and the the SLPLayer that you may not be aware of.

At this point, I'm looking into how VMC center handles nearly seamless integration of the player. Unfortunately, they use what Netflix calls the "Netflix Branded" api... something that Netflix will only allow for app developers that target ~50,000 users in the first months of app release. I'm trying to use greasemonkey, etc., injecting code I've captured with wireshark, trying to get the standard player to expose the API, but it appears that much of the enforcement is on the server side.

    (Edited for typos)

I'm going to try this myself tonight....dumb question, do I need to install/Setup the Netflix streaming first before doing the install for the plugin, or is the plugin "all inclusive"?

    Thanks!

I did try the newer version, but the 'full screen click' seemed to work better than the stretch. The only issue we have outstanding is dual monitors. The stretch may work better on dual monitors since the script doesnt run on the secondary display. I will have to play around with that more when I get time.

Yes, I have had a few discussions around the API. I do use the full API for the queue's, recommendations, similar titles & such, it would be very nice for us to be able to use a home built app for streaming. I completely understand Netflix's issues surrounding the copyrights, and hope they release something soon that can please both sides...

No question is a dumb questions here jlr2000...

It would be best to set up streaming first in your browser. Install the silverlight player, etc, then install the plugin and do the configuration. Please dont forget to go to the MediaPortal Configuration and enable the plugin...
