Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

My Netflix has been running fine until today- now getting “Missing or Invalid File:” error when launching. There has been no changes made to the OS (XP Pro SP3) or MediaPortal, Skins and Plugins since it last worked. Uninstalled My Netflix, deleted database and cleared skin cache. Then reinstalled plugin but still no resolution. Scratchin' my head on this one.

Media Portal v1.0.2.0
StreamedMP Skin v1.0.1.0
Moving Pictures v1.0.4.1070
My Netflix 1.2
OS: XP Pro SP3

These are showing up in my Add/Remove Programs list…
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.5 Service Pack 1

Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

I've had the missing or invalid file error today as well. I assumed it was because I updated to RC5 today but seeing your issue on 1.0.2 makes me think it may be because I updated .net framework today as well. It was running fine on RC4 prior to either updates.

Media Portal v1.1 RC5
Blue3 Wide Skin
My Netflix 1.2
OS: XP Pro SP3

Thanks for the report guys! I tracked the issue to the .net wrapper Im using, which is now returning null for the disc preference (for some strange reason.) I attached 1.3 version to the first post. Please try it out and let me know if you still have issues. (NOTE: I also attached the MyNetflix.dll file if you just want to replace the dll and not have to reinstall the whole package.

Fixes with this verison also include...
    - Fixed 'Preference' bug causing My Netflix load failure.
    - Fixed encoding URL bug causing 'Movie Not Available' failure.
    - Updated Maya Skin files

    Thanks,
    Wile E.

WileE! Thanks for all your work on making this great plugin quickly addressing the issue when it popped up. However, I still appear to be having problems with the plugin. When I bring up netflix, it brings me to where I would normally see my watch it now queue, however, I now just see what looks like to be variable names populated where the movie and other info would be listed. The queue does not show up and I basically have to kill the program to get back to the main menu. I'm using the Xface skin. My system is XP and I have all the .NET frameworks installed and patched to their latest versions. Any ideas to help me get my Netflix integrated back into Mediaportal?
    Thanks!

Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

I recently did a complete re-install of MediaPortal since I built a new HTPC. I had used MediaPortal 1.0.2 on my old HTPC but decided to use 1.1.0 RC4 on my new build. Unfortunately I also used an old version of MyNetflix (v1.0.3) and that kept giving me occasional errors with "missing or invalid xml file" when I tried to launch it. But when it did work, it seemed like everything was fine, including the remote control.

A couple days ago I decided to update to MP 1.1.0 RC6, and MyNetflix 1.0.3 would actually crash during MP startup, making the startup take several minutes. I decided to just update to MyNetflix 1.3, but the same problem remained. In the end, I uninstalled MyNetflix, and reinstalled the latest version 1.3, and now I can get into MyNetflix. But now I have 2 problems:

    1. My remote control no longer works with the silverlight player. Manually hitting the keyboard shortcuts (such as ctrl-P for pause/play) didn't work either. The netflix_remote systray icon does show up, but doesn't seem to respond to anything other than ctrl-E to exit. Pressing the onscreen controls with my mouse works just fine.

    2. The skin seems to be messed up. I'm using StreamedMP 1.2. I've tried regenerating the skin cache but that doesn't seem to help. I've manually copied over the skin files and then regenerated the cache, but again, no luck. I've attached a screenshot so you can see that some of the overlay textures seem to be missing.

Also attached are the log files. Any insight into this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Huh, my skin's been like that for months with StreamedMP. I've yet to figure out how to fix it but clearly there's a background texture or something missing.

    Hey basetwo,
Could you provide some screen shots and possibly your log files?

    Thanks

    Hey Cinnabuns,

    1. Im not sure what would cause this other than another autokey script running at the same time?
    2. I will look at the skin file when I get home tonight and provide a patch... (sorry)

    Hey Ixian,
    Months, really? :D

As I mentioned above I will take a look when I get home tonight...

This one's pretty minor, but I also noticed that the "total movies" number doesn't seem to be updated correctly when browsing TV episodes in a series. See the "12/9 movies" in the screenshot. 9 is actually the number of titles in my instant queue.

Attached is a screenshot of my task manager when the netflix player is running. I don't see anything abnormal there. netflix_remote, netflix_control, and webbrowser are all running only 1 instance.
