I feel really dumb for posting this but i have been looking for answer to this problem in the forum and couldnt find it.
well, i installed the program and everything but when i go to play the instant movies, the mediaportal just pauses and doesnt do anything. It doesnt pop up any windows or anything at all. I am stuck on what to do. Thanks
    I use mediaportal 1.1.1.0 and StreamedMP 1.4.0.1967

    Hey Bhurricane,
Please post your log (Mediaportal.log & error.log) files. As with most problems in MediaPortal, it is easier for people to assist when you post your log files. Please post the complete logs... If your unsure how, see a few posts back where another user asked how to post logs.

    Thanks,
    Wile E.

No worries, most noob's make the same mistake.

Okay, let me futher qualify :)

Clear your logs, reproduce the issue, then post your logs (I didnt see where you tried to start a movie in your logs.)

I actually cleared the logs and tried to reproduce the issue many times. but it doesnt show any activities in the logs for some reason. I can access my netflix account and can see the whole list for the instant queue section but when i try to play one of the movies on the list, the mediaportal does not take any action at all and it doesnt show up anything in the logs repeatly. is the program not registering in my computer?

Probably been asked and answered, but a quick search did not turn anything up.

When I run the authorization, it is successful.
When I run the sub-authorization, it open Internet Explorer and fails.
I noticed that the URL is Netflix: Rent as many movies as you want for only $8.99 a month! Free Trial - when I change to Netflix: Rent as many movies as you want for only $8.99 a month! Free Trial, it works in the browser.

I suspect that since I am from Canada, only the netflix.ca address will work. Is there a way to change the url that is called by My Netflix?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

I'm also in Canada and I've been wanting to give this a try. Kevin, one thing that might make it work would be to edit your hosts file so that netflix.com actually points to the netflix.ca ip address. i.e.

    netflix.com 208.75.76.16

A lot of the functionality that Netflix.com has is not supported by Netflix.ca yet. I am assuming the NetFlix API was used to develop this plug-in. If that’s the case then there isn't any real support for this in Canada yet. Here is a post from the Netflix api developers forum... "There's no scheduled timeline for making the API available for international use at this time." Hopefully that will change soon, for us Canadians! :(

    Hi jrbynum,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I dont think this is something that is going to come soon. Netflix usually will let folks know when positive change is down the road, and for them to say there is no scheduled timeline tells me it is far off into the future. I have also been working/tallking with Hey_Me (from Canada) and he shares the same dissapointment.

So, since the Canadian part of this plugin will be a while off, I am going to remove the options in 2.0 for now. Its a shame because I completely revamped the architecture to accomodate the Canadian features (Instant only.) I can probably save some of the features for the US folks who want to only use the plugin for Instant browsing and viewing...

Yes, that’s pretty much what I have decided. I have gotten the API’s to work somewhat with NetFlix.ca, plus there are other ways to skin the cat, so there might be an interim solution coming for us Canadian’s, it just won’t be as elegant as yours! For now, I’ll just use my Internet Launcher in Kiosk Mode with my handy AutoHotKey solution for my media remote…
