Hi emphatic,

I have problems with that view. TVSeries controlls the fanart and I cannot use it twice. I would like to add it fullscreen in the back to support listview and episodes. But then I cannot add it again in a smaller version to fit this window.... I cannot decide on what to do. Any ideas are very welcome.

You might to want to check the fonts used. Fluid Title Caps are being referenced but was never part of the package. It was installed by streamemd.

I just notice that since I had a clean install with the only skin I like.

Thank you for your note on fonts. I have it as a separate package to download and that was ok as long as people download from the google code site but if one download from MP repository they will never get the fonts. I will fix this. Thank you for your help.

Now to the one view I don't really like as I cannot make the "window" have its own fanart (read more about this in previous threads). So what do you like the attached one? Better that the previous TVSeries filmstrip or was the old with the "Window" better?

My favorite is still the first version with the whole fanart in the window and no changing background, but I understand the problems for people not using filmstrip. What happened with the shaded corners on the last image? Absolutely loved them.

Regarding the filmstrip view, I like the last one without the window and without the faded left/rigth side.

However, giving preference to one side versus another would always be a compromise.

How faded is the left side? Does the fanart take the whole width of the screen? If the fanart starts at around the second rating star, it could be a nice layout. If it doesn't, we'll have problems with fanarts where the main subject lies at the left side.

I agree with this^^.

I'm a poster+list fan myself though (convenience is king), but it's very nice to have views like this when you want to show your guests how fancy MediaPortal can be. I liked the dark, dramatic shadows at the bottom and the window for the fan art. And it was consistent as when you go from Basic Home (selecting TV Shows) you should already have random TV Series fan art in the background from the animations/TV Series folder. So keeping those background images rotating in the background, whilst keeping the currently selected show's fan art in that window feels totally natural to me. However, there's other views to consider.

One of the great things about the TV Series plugin is that the user can choose what fan art to use. If you prefer using a special layout, you can easily avoid fanart that doesn't "fit in" with the skin elements. Of course, if you're a "skin hopper", this could feel a bit annoying, but turning certain fan art on/off is really quick and easy.
