    Hi johan_80,

Something must have gone wrong here... try the following to restore to a start point.

    1. Please put the attached BasicHome.xml in your xfactor skin folder.
    2. Put the attached xfactor.xml in your mediaportal "document" folder. The folder that has the cache folder and so on. In Vista the location is "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal".

Let me know if it helps.

    best regards

Would it be possible to use the same source as StreamedMP Menu Editor does to show all available modules in the editor? Because I am missing a lot... and since MediaPortal is plugin-based, it would be difficult if you can only add modules that have been predefined by Cul8er...

The ones I can think of now that I am trying to make my basichome: Comics, Torrents..

    Thanks!

Now I can edit the menu and MediaPortal does find the basichome.xml
The XFactor.xml did not exist before (should it be created by the installer?)

    Hi zilexa,

Thank you for your question. I have made taken the decision to only include the plugins that I or the community has skinned for xfactor. The reason is that I want the xfactor look on everything. Feel free to post skin files for not supported plugins in the MOD thread and I will add it to the menu editor. Perhaps I will change my mind in the future about this but at the moment this is my opinion.

    cheers

OK well I can completely understand that decision. Normally you go through all these forums finding nice plugins and a nice skin but it can be difficult to figure out why something isn't working if you're not sure the skin supports the plugin and vice versa.

One other thingie... perhaps a very short and to-the-point guide about the Editor would be nice? I am not sure what to fill in for a TV module, just 'tv' or 'tvbg'? (I removed the tv module but then decided I like to have it).

    Hi zilexa,

I'm currently writing a guide for the menu editor so it is on it's way;) An perhaps I will rethink and change the menu editor to support all plugins that you have installed. I have not decided yet but I fully understand why you would like it. I'll get back to you on this. Thank you for your feedback.

    best regards

    Hi,

I have now changed the menu editor so that all plugins that you add to your xfactor folder will automatically be supported. It now reads dynamically from the folder. This means that if you find a skin file for a plugin you like and add it to the xfactor skin folder, the menu editor will support it.

    best regards
