Ok,

Zap2it appears to have changed their antenna channel lineup names. This ends up looking nasty and hard to have the zap2it plugin name/rename and download the EPG data correctly.

Hi Natrlhy,

Checking zap2it forums, it seems like this is causing a lot of problems for myth, gbpvr, etc.

Zap2it is not providing the major/minor channel mapping, only the broadcast channel.
You can parse the minor channel number from the callsign, ex "KQEDDT2"
is minor channel "2" but no way to get the major.

But I am thinking if MP auto-tune correctly identifies the Physical Channel Number
and the Major/Minor I can still attempt a match based on the Physical Channel Number and parsed minor channel.

Can you tell me what information is available after you auto-tune the ATSC channels without any renaming etc from the zap2it plugin?

Say for example on your lineup for "KQEDDT2"
In the channels properties, under the General Tab, what is listed for the
channel number and name?
Under the ATSC tab what is listed for Physical Channel Number,
Major Channel and Minor Channel?

Thanks,
patrick

After I corrected my zap2it lineup and updated the EPG with the zap2it plugin, I couldn't tune any channels. I then rescanned for channels. It said it did not find any new channels, and I didn't delete any of the old ones.

Back in the MyTV section, I now am able to tune channels using the program guide. I haven't tried any other way. The channels are now listed, in the program guide, with the actual channel number. This is no big deal to me.

    Hi patrick,

So in the example of the KQEDDT2, when I autotune for my ATSC channels, this particular channel gets scanned in as ENCORE. Zap2it has this listed as: 30 KQEDDT2
Not even close for the plugin to be able to rename it to KQEDDT2 :) By far no means any fault of the zap2it plugin.

Here are the channel ATSC details:

I checked all the other ATSC physical, major numbers and they match the same information on the zap2it site.

So for now, I have to rename each one of my ATSC channels as I see them on the zap2it account in order for the plugin to properly rename each ATSC channel.

As reference here is what my working TV Guide looks like for a few of my channels after I manually renamed each one to match what is listed on my Antenna zap2it account lineup.

    Visually it's just akward.

Thanks for looking into this patrick!

    Hy

So you are saying that you are getting all the correct EPG data and it is correctly mapped to the channels in MP?
Except that the channels are listed by the broadcast number instead of the mapped number (38 XYZ instead of 8 2 XYZ)?

    Thanks,
    patrick

It seems that way. My PBS channel multicasts, it is listed as 8 WMVSDT, 8 WMVSDT2, etc. The remapped channel had it listed as channel 10 WMVSDT, that is now gone from the listings.

It would seem that since the zap2it data now matches the actual broadcast channel frequency, channel mapping is no longer required (at least in my case). I should add that I am only doing OTA digital channels.

I am tempted to delete everything and start fresh, to see what happens. But I don't want to mess with something that is working.

    Paul,

I ended up using the old channels that I used to be named 2-1 KTVUDT, etc. I just renamed them like the zap2it site has them listed as and I let the zap2it plugin rename them all again.

I rescanned/autotuned just to see what it would find and the names it adds when it scans are very different. I have to rename them after an autotune/scan anyway.

Are you guys using MP SVN build or Stable release?

I have a test build for SVN but can copy the code to the stable release version if you need me to.

    Thanks,
    patrick

Ok, you may want to backup your tvdatabase, channels etc.
    :)

Attaching test dlls for SVN and stable tree.

Let me know how it goes.
There is an extra logging step so the log will look a little different.
