I am going to test this out right now with the latest build...

Wow that was fast and very complete, Thanks!!

Sux about the frequencies though :(

it does need the frequencies to work. The more you guys post in
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=12723

Think maybe I tomorrow I will remove the download link until there is some news
on your bug report since the plugin is not really working like it is supposed to.

Thanks again for checking that out so fast!!

    patrick,

I'm trying out the TVServer version and here is my log file:

    http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/11274

The EPG data was created fine though!

I was hoping to see the Analog channels created since none existed. I only scanned the ATSC channels before configuring the zap2it plugin for TVServer...

    Thanks!

    EDIT:
It DID create the analog channels, I just needed to give it more time. Now I just have to find a DirecTV serial plugin that works with TVServer :)

It should create analog channels if your zap2it lineup indicates digital and
you have the plugin set to auto-add digitial channels BUT it will assign them
    all to the external input.

    Thanks again,

Patrick, maybe you can help me with this. I've been doing the same thing as ASiDiE by entering the frequencies for the channels manually. So here's what happened. I entered in all but one of the channels' frequencies (just overlooked it I think), ran the zap2it plugin, and it loaded the epg just great, and I noticed that channel was missing any info (and hadn't been renamed), so I went back and added the frequency information into it, and restarted the tv server. Then I went back into mediaportal, looked at the epg, and for some reason it only loaded the first day's worth of programming for that channel, instead of the entire 13 days. I've been trying to find a way to clear the epg now so I can load it all fresh, but it seems there isn't that kind of option in the tv server, and the one in mp config does nothing... Any ideas?

Noelix.. You can run this command under queries in your SQL server management tool.

    DELETE FROM [TvLibrary].[dbo].[Program]

That should clean out your epg...

I kind of had the same problem... I had it set to 13 also.. but when it ran.. it only picked up a day. But then when it ran again today.. it downloaded a lot more. so I think it's working if you let it go a day.

    Ok,

Zap2it appears to have changed their antenna channel lineup names. This ends up looking nasty and hard to have the zap2it plugin name/rename and download the EPG data correctly.

I logged into my zap2it account and realized that none of my Digital channels were getting the EPG data. This was due to the antenna lineups change on the zap2it site.

A channel used to look like 2-1 KTVUDT, now it appears like this:
    56 KTVUDT

What can be done to have the plugin match things correctly?

When I scan my ATSC channels it appears in the TV Channels like this:
    KTVU-HD

Obviously not very close to what the plugin can rename.

What is the best course of action now that zap2it has changed the way the channels show up in my account?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up. I noticed a problem with my MythTV box EPG.

I found the same thing at the zap2it site. There were no digital channels at all in my channel lineup. It looks like they now list the digital channels with the actual broadcast channel, not the remapped channel number (usually the analog channel number).

    Hi Patrick,

A hopefully small feature request. I'm on a slightly (OK very) underpowered machine. Would it be possible to run this plugin at low priority (or run it late at night)? It causes responsiveness issues when updating the EPG. Thanks

I think what you are experiencing is some of the database activity that is more or
less outside of the control of the plugin. The plugin uses the database calls
internal to MP and often these are not very optimized.

Unless you have other ides, the update process is pretty optimized already (except for the database access):

The thread that actually downloads the EPG data already should be running
    at a low priority now.

The update schedule runs at the times requested by zap2it to lessen the load
on their servers. (this is often simply a 24 hour schedule so if you
launched MP and forced the update at an off time it may stay that way
    for a while.)

And after the first run that downloads the full number of days you requested
for your lineup, the plugin tries to only download two days of lineup
data (next 24 hours to look for recent changes and the last day of your
    set number days)

    [EDIT]
If you want to post your epg.log file and I can see what is taking the longest
I can see if there is anything I can do.
    [/EDIT]

    HTH,
    patrick
