0 for frequency

1. Can you check Channel 12 and Channel 11 to make sure they have a
frequency (I think Channel 11=199.25 and Channel 12=205.25)?
If not, this is probably the problem, add the correct frequency and try the clear and restore again.

0, for default, was in both of those channels. I seem to recall being in there, so it is probably something I did, when I was having trouble with the guide. I didn't actually verify it in MP, but the log indicates that all matches were made successfully.

:D so much, you rock!

Now, to get some sleep! I was out partying for halloween and got trapped downtown at a bank in a rain/wind storm, until it finally let up (1 hour of my life I'll never get back, lol).

Thanks again,
...Donovan

I was wondering if there is any chance that this will be moved over to the new TV engine?
Will it require a total re-write or can it be "updated"? Sorry to sound so stupid, but my programming experince is nil.

I went back to the old tv engine since I use a sat stb, but I can't this to work anymore. In mediaportal setup, all the channels show up in the assigned channel list & they're all set to the svhs input, the channels are 250000/107, 250000/108 etc., but my guide doesn't populate & the channels don't show up. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Just saw this post. :)

I actually have not tried the new TV engine but I have looked at the code
and do have a version that compiles, but have not had time to test it at all.

One thing is the new TV engine does not support many additional
database fields such as there is no way to flag an episode as new/repeat, set an original air date, rating, etc.
It only supports Title, Description, Genre, StartTime and EndTime.
I had hoped the new server would include more, for example, something like a season pass recording "first-runs" only.
So this got me a little down about it but maybe this weekend I can test it.

But no promises as my wife has me remodeling the guest bedroom :)

HTH,
patrick

Are you sure you are using the correct version on the plugin for the version of MP you are running?
Check the mediaportal log file to see if there are errors on starting the zap2it plugin.

If you still do not see any problems please paste the EPG.log
after an update to http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/

HTH,
patrick

I am sure those fields could be added to the database. I know some of the devs are working together on the webegp and adding those types of fields. I would take to James the creator of the webepg plugin and see what they are working on. You should be able to find him on IRC.

Test version for the new TV Server.

Try to set your days to 1 until you are sure it is working ok so
we don't hammer zap2it if it is not working.

I only tested this on a box with no TV cards so I could not
see any channels in the TVSetup but did pull up the EPG on
    the client.

Since this is running on the server service there are no
warning popups about account expiration or bad user/password, etc.
(they should be in the log though)

Same rules apply about analog channels needing a frequency to
be mapped and you can still auto-add external digital channels.
There are additional options for the external input because
there are additional options on the server.

    So...
    1. Remove the plugin from the client.
    2. Add this new plugin dll to the server plugin folder
    3. Run the TVSetup and configure the Plugin
    4. Stop and Restart your TVServer Service
    5. Cross your fingers ;)

Let me know about any problems and please post your tv log file to
    http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/

    Thanks,
    patrick

I am going to test this out right now with the latest build... maybe you/we should start a new forum post for support on the new Tv engine. Looking through 25 pages of forum post for the latest version.... not fun :)

I see a problem before I even installed the plugin... You said:

be mapped and you can still auto-add external digital channels.
There are additional options for the external input because
there are additional options on the server.

Currently right now, I don't think the tv server saves the Frequencies for the channels. I was/am going to post this bug today...

In the mean time, I have all my channel frequencies written down.... I will go through and edit them all... and then run the plugin.. this should give me a good test to see if the plugin works.

***EDIT*** Just to let you guys know, I just tested this. I added all of the frequencies into the DB by and and then set up my account for the zap2it plugin. IT WORKS GREAT! It combined all of my channels from zap2it and imported the 1 day guide. I am going to test it without the frequencies to see what type of error I get. I submitted a bug in the forums about saving the Frequencies in the database when you do the scan. Below is my log that shows everything ran correctly.

    http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com/11271

Keep up the good work Patrick!

    ***** ANOTHER EDIT *****

I just deleted all my channels and did a rescan. I then ran the zap2it plugin and just like Patrick said... it does need the frequencies to work. The more you guys post in THIS post... the quicker it will be fixed. Please include all of your info and the Dev's will take it more seriously.

Below is my Pastebin of all the channels failing when there is no Frequency in the database.
