oh ok thanks, but then I must have a different problem because then no data is being into the tv guide in mp any ideas(I have marked the box that says update on next startup and let it sit there for about 10 minutes)?

If you are downloading the maximum of 13 days, 10 minutes is hardly enough time. When testing the plugin for funtionality, it is best to set the days downloaded to 1.

My zip is 13073, I have Digital Cable through time warner... a few will appear you have to select the Ithaca one.

I'm not sure if the HD channel is being over written by the non HD channel, or if just the opposite is happening. I just know that the channel tag is "44 FOOD", and under the channel column it is listed as "250000/1914". I have posted my log file to the linked website under "MyBestLaidPl". Any further help you can give me would be appreciated.

Hi,
Just checked http://pastebin.team-mediaportal.com
and did not see the log, but I will check again, maybe it is justing a few minutes.

Tomorrow I will see if I can reproduce the problem.

Quick questions:
Did you rename the channels before running the zap2it plugin
or were the channel names (tags) strictly numbers?

Was channel 44 auto-tuned in MP configuration.exe?
(Just wondering b/c the plugin should never re-assign a tuned channel
to external. The "250000/1914" identifies it as external)

Are all your channels external?

Thanks,
patrick

I've been playing around with the Zap2It plugin with an aim to make it work with the big dish digital 4DTV listings which do not conform to any of the other listings :(

Based on Patrick's most recent SVN version (version 1.8a) I came up with something that appears to work :D

The documentation for these changes can be read here http://www.birdfarm.net/MP/4dtv_fix.rtf

The modified zipped project can be downloaded here (changed version to v1.8b1).

http://www.birdfarm.net/MP/Zap2it-Plugin-v1.8b1-(MP%20SVN)-SRC.zip

Since I only receive TV via 4DTV, I haven't been able to check what impact these changes have on other listing sources...

I don't auto tune any channels... I have a top box which connects to my pvr-150 via S-VIDEO.

Hi,

The problem is zap2it has assigned the same Station ID to the two channels.
Actually this has happened for several channels in your lineup.

What you are seeing is it is encountering the 1914 channel first and creating
the MP channel, mapping it to external channel 1914 and naming
it "1914 FOOD", then it hits the 44 channel and renames it "44 FOOD".

I have seen this before, but only for PPV or OnDemand type channels which usually do not have program data anyway.

The zap2it plugin uses this ID for mapping, so I cannot
think of a way to work around this with the way the plugin
is currently written.

If you are only interested in either one or the other channel
you can specify this @ the zap2it web site.
For example, if you are only interested in the "44 FOOD" channel
you can log into the labs.zap2it.com site and uncheck the "1914 FOOD"
channel from your lineup.

I will have to think about it a little as it is a little more complicated then just adding a channel number to the ID.
In the MP TVDatabase class the only way to get the channel number
for an epgmapping is using this ID, so its a chicken and egg type thing.
(Can't get the mapped channel number without the ID, and can't get the ID without the channel number)

If I have time over the weekend I will see what I can come up with.

Ahh, that's why you were getting character data in the channel number ;)

I will see if I can use some of the code for the next release. :)

Does MP change the Sat channel for you?
Does changing channels consist of only using the 3-digit channel number?

(I was thinking to just parse the channel number and use that, but I know nothing about 4DTV.)

Thanks,
patrick

Patrick,

No, getting MP (or any other PVR) to control the 4DTV Satellite receiver is a royal nightmare

So for the time being, I select the program to watch/record through the IPG on the sat receiver and then select the same program on MP.

Thanks
