I don't think TMT is giving out any codec that can be used by 3rd party. They just offer an alternative to PowerDVD to play BR discs. (the reason I tell you that is that I also downloaded it and tried it).

In fact you can see a bunch of .ax files in their installation folders but these .ax cannot be registered with the system, and I couln't find one that would look like it's a video decoder.

    Hi CHli
i have just intalled TMT and had to register these 3 to get them to show up in MP

    asaudio.ax
    asaudioHD.ax
    ASvid.ax

    testing them at the moment

You might also want to type "hd pack" (without the quotes) into Google too....

To be honest, I think Cyberlink are shooting themselves in the foot with this restriction.

    .......
Maybe Cyberlink should think about selling a codec pack to end users ? :)

    Tony

    They do...Cyberlink's selling a codec pack ( at least for h.264) :)

Pardon my stupidity but how do you register codecs?

Type cmd in your start box.
Right click the mouse on it - run as administrator
    regsvr32 "C:\asaudio.ax"

Tried it and it seems to be working.
Currently I'm lookng at BBC HD using the TMT3 Platinum codecs. :)

They only work upto a version, if you update to the very latest, they stop being available, for some reason the boxed\downloaded versions seem to have different updates as well

I registered the 3 filters that came in DXVA.rar and unfortunately they didn't just work if I placed them in my system32 folder or elsewhere. It seems they rely on a bunch of Cyberlink DLLs since they only worked when I dropped them in my PowerDVD 8 decoder install (also a torrent package that came with an installer that deploys several DLLs).

So I guess one needs PowerDVD 9 installed to get these stand-alone filters to work. I only have PowerDVD 7 installed since I need HD-DVD support.

Arcsoft's TMT3 is not only far superior (performance, looks, usability, stability) to PDVD it also still does support HD-DVD in its latest release. With that stupid decision of cyberlink I feel Arcsoft is worth another recommendation.

So TMT3 really supports HD-DVDs? Don't see it listed as one of the features...

HD-DVD is not supported officially but TMT3 will play back HD-DVD just fine.
