Yes it is using EVR and there have been no changes to folders etc. I disabled some services under windows in Task Manager, and a couple in 'Services'. I think I have put these all back on. unfortunately I did too many at once instead of trying one at a time. Does MP use components of media centre? Other than that I can't think what it would be. May have to go for a reinstal - Vista and MP.
Video and audio all go through an standard HDMI connection. On the positive side, the stuttering has nearly completely gone.

Yesterday I have changed the VMR9 interlacing option from "Automatic" to "Weave". After a system restart the periodic stuttering has disappeared completely! I can't believe that this has finally fixed it but it worked the whole evening without stuttering...

Just to remember:
I run MP 1.0.2 under XP SP3 with a "slow" Nvidia 6150 in full HD resolution (however with DVB-T signals).

I'm suspicious of the DVB-T aspect of your card... apparently there is some issue the format... NOT that yours is this brand, mind you... but just a thought since 1.0.0 was YOUR issue and not so 1.0.1 or 1.0.2

Given you are still perplexed with this stutter and have NOT been able to separate playback/display issues from general or reception issues caused in 1.0.0 (have you checked your log for this?) you may be in a sweet spot to try their 1.1.0 ALPHA release. It is an ALPHA so YMMV.

Am trying mumin's suggestion and will give it a good run tonight - changed interlacing to weave. Briefly tested last night - no stuttering so far (Stuttering has varied from starting after running for a while to more recently almost immediately on TV start). My hopes are building...
I have downloaded the ALPHA to try but will test out the current change and get back to this thread

have tried mumins suggestion - changed interleaving (in active MP) to weave and best - result in a stutter free state for an hour or 2 then it returns. Anyone know where I can get a copy of RC 0.3? this worked smoothly. Cheers. (or RC 0.4)

Interesting. For me it is still working without stuttering. I guess that Weave has a slightly reduced demand on the hardware, which is then enough for my PC and still at the limit for your one. Which graphic card do you use? Cheers

Another theory: The stuttering seems to be related to time - fine for an hour or so then it starts. I have tried RC3 (couldn't get it to work) 1.1 alpha - no joy, so reinstalled 1.0.2 and things worked fine on default settings then stuttering started. So how about heat - i have an unfanned (silent) en9600gt card. The HVR2200 is also a PCIe card and is no more than 3-4mm away from the graphic card. On testing the 9600 has so far got up 63 deg C - could heat buildup slowly begin to disrupt the TV card? Heat sink is next to back of HVR2200. I'm testing recording TV without streaming live at the same time - no detail on that yet. Live streaming took GC temp up from high 40s to 60s.
