Hi,
Just been looking at Mythtv and it does support picture in picture if you have two or more TV card. Just wondering if media portal will support this feature in the future?

My mum just got a new HD Recorder with built in Twin DVB-T tuners in it and the PIP stuff was great! Really useful when especially when your waiting for adverts to finish on 1 channel while viewing another.

But I can see much better uses for it such as if you have home security with a security camera you could see who is at the front door :)

this has been asked numerous times before (try searching the forum)

and basically the answer is that it's not a priority at the moment, and no plans to add it.

Picture-in-Picture looks nice on a feature list but nobody actually uses it*.

It's not a feature that is in high demand, it is however a feature that would take a lot of effort to implement properly. If it was simple it would be in there already.

    * = 4 people use it on their other equipment/software and will now reply below ...

Acutally I'm not one out of four, but I doubt the above thesis. It would be used by many people, if it's implemented, I'm pretty sure.
It's just that only a handful of devices or apps support that feature, so people don't really know it. And usually you don't miss stuff you don't know or you haven't actually got your hands on before. ;)
IMO this would be a very nice feature, but yes, hard to implement and thus nobody should expect it to come anytime soon, if it comes at all.

I completely agree with mPod, its a new thing which people are just discovering and if they knew you could do it then they would use it.

Heres hoping the the devs look into it :)

This thread can't die without the four expected replies :D

I will take number one! My old goldstar 74cm TV with PIP. Rugby on one, cricket on the other. Just swap the current action to the large display.

I'm stuck with mythtv until the TV server is released, and I have PIP working.

I used it once when two matches from the world cup were on simultaneously... And never again...

The only changes I see are: Updated Marcel Groothuis version of the plugin to now support Media Portal 2.5 I can't say anything about the functionality of this plugin, I don't use TV Part, but if there are any changes that can be simply transferred, then I can try. But I can't give any guarantees.

I tried setting the windows screensaver to power off the display on my MP1 HTPC but in fact it only blanks the screen ("no video signal") on the TV I suspect the AVR has something to do with that.
