in German (don't know the english menu structure):
"Desktop" => "rechte Maustaste" => "Anpassung" => "Fensterfarbe und Darstellung" => "Windows-Aero" auswählen nur dann steht die volle Bildqualität auch in Videos usw. zur Verfügung und natürlich EVR unter MP auswählen.

YES it is only with AERO glass ON and EVR enabled in MP you get good picture quality in Vista.

    Thank's for the hint.
I will give it a try and report back.
On the forum I found contradictory statement about PQ and Aero Glass.
Some report about improved and some about degreed quality.
    Strange.

    Strange.

PQ is always subjective. So many users will just have a placebo effect with EVR / AERO as they think Vista is "not so good".

Seems that on some graphic cards when AREO Glass is enabled VA and MA deinterlacing is no longer available.

Ok I verified it so far and here there is no difference if Areo Glass is enabled or not.
What I'm currently fighting with are occasional frame drops on some material.
I have no idea where it comes form, but I'm also very spoild cause on XP I used ReClock which no longer works on Vista.

Just restored the XP image - the whole UI is much more smooth than on Vista.
Esp. browsing folders and switching through the menus is much faster with XP.
Why the hack is Vista so damn slow?

ReClock works with Vista. SlySoft is currently providing a beta for it.

Sounds like something is wrong in the OS install itself (as there isn't any big performance differences between XP / Vista. Unless you are running Vista on 512MB PC).
