I'm testing on Win7 and fix some issue, so now when scanning from Picture database / GUI Picture database Setting / Thumb auto generated, the Picture is rotated like it should.
I'm working on 1.7.0 Pre release, so i can supply a bin based on this MP version :)

It seems on Windows 8 (but i need to see what happen exactly) the image is auto rotated and then MP code rotate it again and then we get wrong status.
If it that case, i need to check @ OSLEVEL and avoid EXIF code to avoid Double rotation :)

Let me see if I understand.
Are you say that after you fixed it works correctly on Win7 but not on Win8?
On Vista it did not work, and also on Win8. So are there 2 different bugs? One that caused it not to work on Vista and one double rotation on Win8?

Ok i will upload an 1.7.0 Pre-Release installer with the fix to test :)
You can select reinstall over 1.7.0 Pre-Release.

My testing on WIN7 and WIN8 works (i can trigger the issue so should be a good news lol)

Thanks for the quick action. I tested on Vista, but ....no. The problem is still there. Sorry.
For me personally Win8 is more important. But I would not like to mess up my parents' living room computer with a testing a pre-release.
    Vista version number is 6.

I see the testing version from you is 1.6.100.145. Did I get the correct version?

    Yes that's correct about version.
I will try to test on vista, i have a vm somewhere but like on vacation, not sure i copy it on my external hd lol
For me based on your jpg and one i have take with my camera, it works on win7/8 now :)
    Can you supply log ?

Oh, i forget to tell you one important thing, the rotation is store on db :) so you need to reset picture database and picture thumb for a proper test :)
    Could try that ?

Thanks :) (sorry was tired yesterday night and i forgot to explain that :) (i will update the wiki)

BTW, resetting the Database did not clear the thumbnails in MP. I see that because I was playing with changing EXIF orientation of the pictures. How do I clear the thumbnails?
